Get the gas when they are inserting either the balloon or cervidil! It’s a game changer

I was induced at 38 weeks too. I would say bring all the entertainment you need, I went in Wednesday and my baby was born on the Sunday (labour began on the Saturday) It's not necessarily a quick process when your body isn't ready, so be prepared for that possibility. I hope it's quicker for you. All in all though it's fine, you meet your baby at the end 🩷 good luck! Happy to answer any more specific questions.

I was 38 weeks induction. Takes ages if first baby.

I got induced at 37+6, started induction at 12:30pm on the Thursday with pessary which was removed at 1am Friday due to too many contractions, brought round to labor ward and waters artificially ruptured at 4am, baby born 8:19pm Friday! Very positive experience for me with it being my first baby I thought it would take ages. Wishing you a safe delivery ✨

I’ve had two. One awful horrible induction and one positive one.
Negative one - pessary hormonal induction. 4 days long.. so many interventions and complications. NEVER AGAIN.
Positive one - balloon induction. Painless insertion, quick and due to it being hormone free no overstimulated uterus! Way quicker too!! Studies also show this is the best method and many NHS hospitals are providing this as the first route for mums.
My advice - go for hormone free induction! Balloon looks scary but it’s fine!x

do you mind me asking why you need to be induced? you don't have to if you don't want to. X

I was induced 1 week early for gestational diabetes & it went okay … it was mixed but I did learn some things.
Do everything you can to help your cervix open. Don’t just sit around when the start you on cervidil or the balloon. Do exercises and stretches to help. Because it your cervix isn’t ripe enough when they break your water or start you on pitocin .. it could lead to a c section. Even when you get on pitocin… they might tell you that you need to stay in the bed but smoke everything you can to stay active even in the bed keep doing different movements and use the peanut ball… I’m pretty sure this is why my active kabouf was only 3 hours and I only had to push twice to get my baby out… the down side was that the epidural was moving slower than my contractions were coming and I think it got misplaced somehow and I felt the pain and apparently it’s worse that regular contractions & more close together.. but I got through it and so can we all!!!
