Just after some advice! I know it’s said that bottles, dummies etc are only sterile for 24 hours of being sterilised - how do I go about making sure everything is sterilised before I give birth when you don’t know when your going to give birth! Obviously can’t do it in advance as they won’t be sterilise by the time he’s born and home!
Hope this makes sense, my brain can’t get wrapped around it🙈

So if you're planning on using formula, the hospital should provide you with plenty of sterilized bottles and nipples. It took us 2 weeks to get through what the hospital gave us! As for pacis, they make sterilizer bags where you put a bit of water in and microwave according to instructions, and the steam sterilizes it for you. Lots of recovery wards have a dining area with a microwave, but im sure the staff at the hospital have much better suggestions than I do!
I wouldnt worry about it too too much, but if you have a sterilizer machine, I'd load it up before baby gets here so you come home and can instantly just turn it on as you guys come in.
Congrats and have an easy delivery!

You can get ready to feed sterilised bottles for formula feeding, easiest thing for hospital :) we had the cow and gate ones but I think they do aptamil as well.
And I wouldn’t bother taking a dummy to the hospital, you won’t need one straight way and you may find your child doesn’t even like them at all.

The ready to feed packs with the teats don't need sterilising, they're already sterile. Dummies can be microwave sterilised (usually there's a parent kitchen) and they usually come with a box to put them in in the microwave.
Ask your midwife at your next appointment what sterilising facilities there are
