Is anyone else around 30 weeks and struggling with gestational diabetes?
I’m currently diet-controlled, but even one slice of sourdough bread is sending my 1-hour blood sugar up to around 9 mmol/L. It’s becoming really frustrating because I feel like I’m doing everything right.
Has anyone else experienced this? Did you find certain breads or breakfasts that worked better for you?

Warburton protein bread range was kind to me - sticking to 15-20g carbohydrates. I always paired with fat and protein. So eggs, chicken, cheese, sausages.
I found Sainsbury's porridge own brand in sachets was also good, with half a banana! Yes only half 😭

Thanks! I’m definitely going to give the Warburtons Protein Bread a try. Fingers crossed it works for me too! 🤞

Bread was a no go for me in the morning. I could have one slice of wholemeal if I did a half hour walk but that wasn’t always possible. The same piece of bread in the evening with cheese or peanut butter was fine even without the walk. I used to have Greek yogurt with nuts and a few berries for breakfast. Added chia seeds the night before to make it a bit thicker.

I didn't have bread in the morning, had greek yoghurt with nuts. I tried loads of breads and the seeded ones were worse bizarrely and Jason's sourdough with 2 eggs was fine.
