Antibiotic effect on breastmilk

I have been taking amoxicillin for a week now and my EBF baby has seemed to be coincidentally having GI issues? Larger spit ups, visibly and audibly uncomfortable, straining to poop/pas gas, lots of mucous in stool etc etc. he’s happy but also very uncomfortable. Anyone else have this issue?? Yesterday was my last day so I’m hoping he feels better soon. I feel so bad 😢

Any time I’ve been on antibiotics it’s given my son some a little tummy trouble and some loose stools but it goes back to normal pretty quickly once I stop. Have you tried giving him probiotics?

I’m same thing happened to me when I took antibiotics, he did go back to normal when I was done with them

Not to be rude but this doesnt make sense. If you have a doctor prescribing any type of medication especially antibiotics they are supposed to ask beforehand if you are breastfeeding

Dummy

Hi. My 4 week old hasn’t took to a dummy at all since birth. She will suck it for a few seconds then spit it out. She suffers with reflux and is on medication for it and I’ve been told offering a dummy can help with the reflux but I can’t get her to take it! Any tips?

9 week, sleep pattern

My baby had his last bottle at 10:45 and slept till 6:30am. Is this too long?

I understand they naturally wake up to reduce SIDS. All research is conflicting, one post will say babies this age sleep between 6-8 hours and others state they should be waking up for feeds and going no longer than 4 hours?

He has regained his birth weight and continuously gaining weight and having enough nappies.

He does have enough calories in the day also.

Can you please share current routines? (I know they will be loose)

I am just wanting to understand what an evening looks like and amount of time little one sleeps.

Do they have a large wake window before their final night feed? Or just same as the day waking every couple hours for a feed?

FTM help with sleep changes

Hi all,

FTM here, my girl turned 4 months on Thursday - for the last 2-3 weeks her sleep has changed.

Since she was just over 2 months she has been a great sleeper at night with no concerns at all.

The last 2-3 weeks she is still going to bed at same time and wake up at same time but during the night she keeps starting to wake and makes like, starting to cry noises - sometimes she settles herself after a few seconds and sometimes I have to go get up and give her, her dummy ( she has a dummy to go sleep)
Then she settles again till the next time she does this again.

Normally she is still asleep while doing this
She has also become a very lite sleeper - my partner ended up sleeping in the living room last night as he kept coughing and it was waking her.

During the day she is fine, no concerns at all.

I was told sleep cycles can change at this age and this is normal

But I just wondered if anyone else has had similar experiences?

If your child hand HFM, when did you go out?

The gp said I can continue as normal with no need to quarantine but this seems strange to me.
