Nipple Pain

Hey!

Has anyone experienced nipple pain/possible milk blend or something else? I’m going to make an appointment for myself on Monday but for the past week just one nipple has been hurting really bad when my son latches, then through feeding, it’s most painful when he initially latches. He’ll be two this month so I’ve been BF for almost two years but haven’t ever experienced pain like this.

At first I was thinking some type of trauma, because he moves so much when he nurses and favors my right side, my nipple also got yanked out of his mouth last week, but then I was also thinking maybe it’s a milk bleb because sometimes nursing him hurts but it also feels like the feeling of a clogged duct.

Idk what to do, has anyone experienced similar? The pain is really just in my nipple, my breast doesn’t hurt, it also seems to hurt more on one side of my nipple. It’s been about a week of pain. 😕

Has anyone had thrush(yeast infection) or mastitis? Is this how it starts? Idk if it’s one of those or something else. 😩

This sounds like nipple trauma or a blister to me. I have dealt with mastitis three times and it does not hurt your nipples whatsoever. If its that, ensure a deep latch & let your milk dry on your nipple, also nipple butter

I had a milk bleb ( think it was) the pain was unbearable and it hurt so bad throughout the whole feed. And I could see on my nipple there was like a shiny white blister on it which looked bruised and I think it was from the way she was clamping on it when she was sleeping so was caused by nipple trauma . I had a day of not nursing on it and I just pumped that side when I needed it and put breast milk on it and warm compress. But I read that I should feed from it as would help it so then I carried on the next day feeding from it and did clean up within 4 days was so painful

Got these for my little one

I brought these for my one year old to get her off the bottles she was on

I did a lot of research on them, and a few people recommended them for her age

Just wanted to see what mums thought on here about them before I start using them

Agitated when breastfeeding

My 5 week old son is breastfed and expressed milk fed via bottle and normal is content on the breast but today out of nowhere he is really agitated and screams as if he isn’t getting any milk but I use a nipple shield and can see the milk is there. Any advice? I don’t want to have to give up breastfeeding 😢

Burning candles?

I know we shouldn’t because it’s not good for adults but especially babies but I miss burning a candle in the evening and we have a rented house that smells musty no matter how much we deep clean everything and air out the house for hours everyday. Does anyone burn a soy candle downstairs in the evening with windows being open whilst baby is upstairs asleep or do you think it’s too much of a risk? Any advice /opinions would be greatly appreciated (my baby is 9 months btw)

Antibiotic effect on breastmilk

I have been taking amoxicillin for a week now and my EBF baby has seemed to be coincidentally having GI issues? Larger spit ups, visibly and audibly uncomfortable, straining to poop/pas gas, lots of mucous in stool etc etc. he’s happy but also very uncomfortable. Anyone else have this issue?? Yesterday was my last day so I’m hoping he feels better soon. I feel so bad 😢

How would you react - a bit annoyed at my partner

How would you react - a bit annoyed at my partner

Our LO is just over 2 years old.

Sadly I wasn’t in the room and my partner was in the room and he didn’t see what happened. I’m so annoyed at that. It’s bad enough our toddler fell off the sofa but I’m so annoyed he wasn’t watching to see what happened 😣

Apparently the Toddler was on the sofa and fell off 😔

I heard the impact of the fall from the bedroom and a cry straight after from what I could tell

Toddler was acting normal then and now but when discovered toddler was face up on the floor crying But clutching cheek from inside mouth. At first I thought toddler may have had a self inflicted bite.

This is what their face looks like today.

So all in all toddler seems fine. Although the whole situation is still giving me anxiety.

I mean, one thing that's really, annoying me is the fact that my partner was like so relaxed and was like oh it will be fine, there will be more knocks and worse. But it just pissed me off because I was thinking how does this not worry you?

I just feel like I was so much more worried about this than my partner was/is.

My partner is just so laid back about it. It's just me doing the research, checking, worrying, and wondering if toddler is okay. Partner was just watching football.

Like am I unreasonable?
