But I like to plan ahead to spread the cost over the latter half of the year.
I'm looking for suggestions for gifts for adult family members. I feel like I buy the same things every year (candle, shortbread, socks blah blah) and it's boring and expensive! And I'm not really sure how much people actually like these gifts.
I wanted to do something a bit different and hopefully more cost effective this year but I don't know what.
Any suggestions?

Are you crafty ? There’s all sorts of things you can make with air dry clay

There was one year I baked everyone their own Christmas tree cupcake (they were adorable) and one year I made all the women cute Christmas cookie scented sugar scrubs. I don’t have the time or energy for that sort of thing anymore so I just buy everyone little gifts now.

you should make little dollar tree baskets with like 1-3 homemade small items in it!

My family always love getting handmade gifts. Even if simple. Ideally you want to tailor the gift to the person and the things they like.

My mom makes sugar scrubs as gifts, and my cousin always makes candles with different thrifted containers! I’ve also seen people make different infused cooking oils, or seasoning salts for anyone that likes to cook. I’d love to try to make clay magnets or trinket trays myself, but I’m not very crafty haha

Now is the perfect time to make homemade vanilla - it needs up to 6 months to flavor. Most simply it’s just vodka and split vanilla beans, but there are some fun variations as well!
I also like to have an Instagram saved folder with gift ideas and like to save things throughout the year to make it easier to decide.
Some things I’ve seen recently… burlap and barrel spices, culinary teas has an earl grey matcha, funday press, riv salt
