Witching hour :(

My son is 12 weeks and has been crying every evening since he was 5 weeks sometimes can go on for 2/3 hours of inconsolable crying, its exhausting, frustrating and just want this phase over with!
Anyone else experience witching hour/colic? If so, how long did it last for your baby?

My son is just over 9 weeks old and for quite a while now he has always been extremely fussy in the late afternoon/early evening. It’s typically between 4-8pm.

He hasn’t been inconsolably crying and I feel for you, but he does cry and just gets fussy and very irritable. Doesn’t know whether he wants to feed and fights naps.

Some days are better than others in all honesty and I don’t think there’s an answer as I think it’s because of various reasons. I just find sticking to a routine and not having any visitors past 4pm has helped us.

I have found recently that when he is napping he has just woken up screaming and then stops and goes back to sleep. Quite scary and caught me off guard a few times.

Mine went through this exact phase. Started at 4 months and ended at 6 months.

I tried all types of sleep training. He did learn to sleep through the night within 2 days but the evenings were rough until 6 months. He cried for at least 2 hours every single night.

I did lots of “resets” in the evenings to help my sanity.

Mine is now 17 months and this phase of evening crying was the hardest phase we ever had.
