Thoughts on these? I really want to get one for my son when he’s about 18 months.

Following for the comments. My baby is 6 months and we want to try just a mattress on the floor in a few weeks. We have soft barriers to put around so she can’t go anywhere. Currently co-sleeping with her, but I want my freedom back. She won’t tolerate a cot!

Do it! My son is 16 months and I totally regret spending so much on his cot bed. He started refusing it around 13 months and so we cosleep. Life would have been sooo much easier with a floor bed!

Following as I also want recommendations! Was thinking just a mattress on floor but he's going to roll out onto the carpet😅 currently just switched from cosleeping to cot but not sure how long he'll accept the cot.

Put the mattress to corner, use padding that you would use on cribs for the wall and baby bed guards for the 2 open sides. If baby is in there own room.
My baby is still in my room so I put the mattress next to my bed. ( 2 sides to the wall, one open end.) He has only ever rolled off once and it was during the heatwave. He use tossing all trying to get comfortable.

We got these to put around the mattress as a temporary solution whilst she’s still in our room. When we’re ready for her to go in her own room we’re going to put a playpen around the floor mattress to keep her safe

I got an Ikea bed frame and trimmed off the legs so it is lower to the ground to make it a floor mattress
We wanted something cheap, twin size (buy a good mattress once rather than a toddler size mattress for just a few years), and was off the floor (you want the mattress off the floor to avoid mold growing under).
It has been working great. We didn't use bedrails so the first few months he would occasionally roll off but after a while he has figured it out and sleeps a lot more still.
