Floor beds

Thoughts on these? I really want to get one for my son when he’s about 18 months.

If you have one please share which ones 🥹🥹🥹

Following for the comments. My baby is 6 months and we want to try just a mattress on the floor in a few weeks. We have soft barriers to put around so she can’t go anywhere. Currently co-sleeping with her, but I want my freedom back. She won’t tolerate a cot!

Do it! My son is 16 months and I totally regret spending so much on his cot bed. He started refusing it around 13 months and so we cosleep. Life would have been sooo much easier with a floor bed!

Following as I also want recommendations! Was thinking just a mattress on floor but he's going to roll out onto the carpet😅 currently just switched from cosleeping to cot but not sure how long he'll accept the cot.

Put the mattress to corner, use padding that you would use on cribs for the wall and baby bed guards for the 2 open sides. If baby is in there own room.
My baby is still in my room so I put the mattress next to my bed. ( 2 sides to the wall, one open end.) He has only ever rolled off once and it was during the heatwave. He use tossing all trying to get comfortable.

YIHATA 2in1 Toddler Bed Guard,... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0D72QMLJY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

We got these to put around the mattress as a temporary solution whilst she’s still in our room. When we’re ready for her to go in her own room we’re going to put a playpen around the floor mattress to keep her safe

I got an Ikea bed frame and trimmed off the legs so it is lower to the ground to make it a floor mattress

We wanted something cheap, twin size (buy a good mattress once rather than a toddler size mattress for just a few years), and was off the floor (you want the mattress off the floor to avoid mold growing under).

It has been working great. We didn't use bedrails so the first few months he would occasionally roll off but after a while he has figured it out and sleeps a lot more still.

Can’t stop falling asleep

I keep on falling asleep with my baby in my arms while feeding. He’s only a month old and I share a bed with my partner and loads of pillows. Bed sharing seems the obvious solution but I thrash in my sleep. Today I woke up to my baby in my arms and realised I had them there for maybe an hour. So scary! He’s slipped before in my arms and luckily I woke up to move him . My partner says I NEED to change this as it’s only a matter of time before something terrible happens and I agree.

I have talked to Midwives at my appointments and their advice does not help. I just blank out. What should I do?

Milk supply dropping

I’m currently 4 weeks pp and on my 3rd week my milk supply was double at nearly every pumping session and now on the 4th week it’s half what my baby has. (I nurse my son at night and pump throughout the day). I wonder why my supply has suddenly dropped. Anyone experience something similar?

Friends leaving after having baby/rant

I’m 21 and had my first baby in August, initially all my friends were supportive, but after maybe 2 months possibly less they started becoming distant, the one that hurts the most is my best friend of 10 years, we used to do something at least once a week, after I had my baby nearly 11 months ago I have seen her 3 times, once when baby was 2 weeks old and twice about 3 months ago, another friend who’s been one of my closest friends for 6 years I’ve only seen twice since I had my baby, they have both now started booking trips/concerts in different countries which we never used to do and when I mentioned it to them and very nicely asked if they could still at least ask me if I wanted to do things with them because I’m still the same person I was before they fought back turning it round to me not asking to be invited?! They also never once after I had my baby asked how I was dealing with it or how she was. I realise we’re in different points of life now however it hurts that the 2 people I considered my best friends and who would stick with me through anything has now stopped talking to me just because I have a baby, does anyone else have similar experiences with friends kinda ditching them after they had their baby because I am really struggling with this

My daughter won’t let me change her nappy

She’s almost 2 and it’s only at the house, when we’re out she lets me take her the changing room fine but at home she gets so angry and thrashes around. Shes started to wriggle away from me mid 💩 change and then sits on the floor so it goes everywhere. I feel like I’ve tried absolutely everything. I’ve tried changing her exclusively on the changing table so she gets the message that it’s time for a clean nappy. I’ve tried keeping it casual and just popping her down on the floor or on the sofa. I let her hold toys, give her a wipe. We’ve tried pull up and she’s does exactly the same but just stood up.

I’ve even tried introducing a potty but she just doesn’t get it yet at all.

I can’t work it out why she hates it so much. She’s definitely not in any pain or discomfort. I’m praying this is just a phase. Help please 🙏
