To ring or not to ring…

Have a C-section booked in tomorrow (I’m the first slot due to being high risk ((GD and other things)) so it will be about 9am as have to be there for 7).

I’ve been in slow labour for weeks however, today things have ramped up a notch. I’m loosing big chunks of plug every time I go to the toilet, even standing up I can feel it coming away / out due to the size and I’ve had to wear a pad most the day. I’ve had back pain for the majority of the day coming in waves, it has now gotten worse again and period like cramps on and off throughout the day.

The only brief period this stopped was during my pre op this afternoon as I was finding out whether I was eligible for a spinal or if I needed general anesthetic for my c-section; so as you can imagine it was a stressful period.

Do I bother with ringing triage and seeing what they say or ride it out? For context: my eldest birth was completely unmedicated - I fell asleep between contractions and even then didn’t feel over half of them and had to be told I was having one and to push. So I feel like I’m a bit of a bad person for the whole “you know when you’re in labour” etc.

i would wait until pain is becoming regular, but if you’re a high risk birth then i would suggest calling triage and getting their advice, they will be able to tell you best what to do

Aw hope you're okay. I would ring them up and see what they recommend as they might want you in tonight instead

She's here!!!

Little miss decided to arrive at 37+4wks, a few days ago, she's tinyyy weighing in at only 5lbs12oz, but she is doing so well, bless her. FAR less dramatic than her big sister's start 😂😂.

She tried to need intervention, but then she changed her mind at the last minute and shuffled out 😂. Here in under 2hrs, not a bad attempt for a VBAC 🎉❤️ xx

Wishaw hospital

So we’ve been told by our midwife if you get to Wishaw after 9pm to go to the maternity entrance, which is fine, but if you arrive before 9pm to go to “triage”. Where is triage?! Do you go in the main entrance at the front then up to where the scans are? Just trying to be prepared 😅

Ready for weaning?

Baby can sit up - but only when assisted. He is very nearly there unassisted and will stay upright for a few seconds, but not for very long. Otherwise, his head control and sitting position is really strong. Is he ready for weaning, or do babies need to be sitting up completely unassisted first? Thanks!! X

Braxton hicks - uncomfortable!

Is anyone else like oh wow this is uncomfortable when you get Braxton hicks. Like I get them once every few days but when I do I’m like… wow! Imagine what contractions are like?! If this is a ‘warm up’. Anyone else? Haha.

C section

I’m potentially going to be having a C section. However, I’ve got a huge needle phobia and absolutely petrified of the thought of a C section.
I’ve had very mixed comments from people, about what the experience and recovery is like.
Is it as bad as I’m letting myself believe?

is it just me?

so today i wore fitted shorts and no matter where on my tummy they were it just felt pretty painful after say 5 mins of wearing them it happens with jeans too. Including underwear. I feel like the inside stitches are hurting more than the main outside stitch. Anyone else feel this kind of pain does it go away? im almost 9 months PP. Even when my baby steps on that area its really tender. If i use say anything somewhat tight in that area later in the day its painful to use my abs.
