growth scan

ugh so today i asked my ob if ill get a growth scan because everyone else i know seems to have gotten one and got told no. i feel so blessed to be low risk but i really wanted to see baby girl again i haven’t since 19 weeks at my anatomy scan and now im 29 weeks and 5 days. she just measured my belly at 28cm and said thats normal for where i’m at because they give or take 2cm to gestation. i just get worried because baby girl was in the 28% for weight for my anatomy scan over almost 11 weeks ago now and i wanna make sure she’s healthy. i’m about to just put in the extra money and book something with a boutique in a few weeks and get the 3D/4D growth ultrasound but everyone made it seem like i should just get one from my ob lol. anyone else miss seeing their baby? and does ur ob do a standard growth scan low or high risk?

We went and did a 3D one. Most of the pictures were absolutely scary but it was still a really nice experience.

Yeah this seems to be the standard if you're not high risk. I had my anatomy scan at 20, came back in at 24 only bcuz they didn't get 3 views the 1st time. Goin in at 28 Wednesday for the glucose test but no imaging, then finally growth scan at 32. I'm about to go to a boutique too

I’m low risk. Normal routine pregnancy and will have one more scan this week at 32 weeks. Odd that yours doesn’t. Boutiques are fun but they can’t tell you anything, your doctor may be able to look at those though and give some reassurance.

Usually they do 2 scans in healthy pregancys, I got really scared when they send me a growth scan due that I have GD and a bunch of other things going on. Going to a private boutique would be your best way to check on baby, ultrasounds aren’t necessary recommended they stress baby and they’re just performanced if needed.

She's here!!!

Little miss decided to arrive at 37+4wks, a few days ago, she's tinyyy weighing in at only 5lbs12oz, but she is doing so well, bless her. FAR less dramatic than her big sister's start 😂😂.

She tried to need intervention, but then she changed her mind at the last minute and shuffled out 😂. Here in under 2hrs, not a bad attempt for a VBAC 🎉❤️ xx

Wishaw hospital

So we’ve been told by our midwife if you get to Wishaw after 9pm to go to the maternity entrance, which is fine, but if you arrive before 9pm to go to “triage”. Where is triage?! Do you go in the main entrance at the front then up to where the scans are? Just trying to be prepared 😅

Ready for weaning?

Baby can sit up - but only when assisted. He is very nearly there unassisted and will stay upright for a few seconds, but not for very long. Otherwise, his head control and sitting position is really strong. Is he ready for weaning, or do babies need to be sitting up completely unassisted first? Thanks!! X

Braxton hicks - uncomfortable!

Is anyone else like oh wow this is uncomfortable when you get Braxton hicks. Like I get them once every few days but when I do I’m like… wow! Imagine what contractions are like?! If this is a ‘warm up’. Anyone else? Haha.

C section

I’m potentially going to be having a C section. However, I’ve got a huge needle phobia and absolutely petrified of the thought of a C section.
I’ve had very mixed comments from people, about what the experience and recovery is like.
Is it as bad as I’m letting myself believe?

is it just me?

so today i wore fitted shorts and no matter where on my tummy they were it just felt pretty painful after say 5 mins of wearing them it happens with jeans too. Including underwear. I feel like the inside stitches are hurting more than the main outside stitch. Anyone else feel this kind of pain does it go away? im almost 9 months PP. Even when my baby steps on that area its really tender. If i use say anything somewhat tight in that area later in the day its painful to use my abs.
