Membrane sweep

Currently 39 weeks, went in for a membrane sweep and feeling super discouraged as she wasn’t able to do it as I was 0cm dilated so she’s booked me in for this coming Thursday. Has this happened to anyone else? I’m on my second baby so not too sure as to why I’m not dilated at all although I’ve been getting braxton hicks/false labour contractions for almost a month, cervix is soft and baby is in position.

I had a similar experience. I went in around 40 weeks and wanted to do a membrane sweep and they couldn’t. I ended up getting induced at 41 weeks. Right before I got induced I was 2cm dilated and 60% effaced. I think my body was already starting to go into labor naturally because I only had to have one dose of cytotec and usually it’s like 3-4 doses I believe plus pitocin which I didn’t need. I didn’t have anything else done to progress my labor. Then I had epidural because contractions are no joke. My labor was about 17 hours long. Honestly I would try pumping as often as you can, it can help you get consistent contractions and speed things along. Try not to stress and everything will happen the way it is suppose to!

Compression socks after c section

How long after C section did you take your compression socks off? I had a 10 day course of injections which I have now just completed an hour ago. Am I able to take the stockings off and leave them off now?

My midwives when discharging me from the hospital did not tell me anything about it and I can’t remember from my first as it was 3.5 years ago

Multiple c sections

I’ve had 2 emergency c sections. 1 in 2019 and 1 in 2023 and now that my daughter is almost 3 I’m thinking a lot about having a third but the only thing holding me back is the fear of a third c section. Can anyone who has had multiple c sections share your experience? Or has anyone had a successful VBAC after more than 1 c section?

Can anyone recommend a cake recipe for a 6 month old?

My baby is 6 months next month & for his photo shoot id like to make him some cupcakes which look good for the photos & taste good to baby and adult.
I have the moon and rue weaning book and that has a cake recipe but it’s saying it’s for 1 year old
Thank you!

growth scan

ugh so today i asked my ob if ill get a growth scan because everyone else i know seems to have gotten one and got told no. i feel so blessed to be low risk but i really wanted to see baby girl again i haven’t since 19 weeks at my anatomy scan and now im 29 weeks and 5 days. she just measured my belly at 28cm and said thats normal for where i’m at because they give or take 2cm to gestation. i just get worried because baby girl was in the 28% for weight for my anatomy scan over almost 11 weeks ago now and i wanna make sure she’s healthy. i’m about to just put in the extra money and book something with a boutique in a few weeks and get the 3D/4D growth ultrasound but everyone made it seem like i should just get one from my ob lol. anyone else miss seeing their baby? and does ur ob do a standard growth scan low or high risk?
