Overdoing it or no? ( C section )

Today I walked around two shops, for about an hour and a half, with my partner doing the food shop and I am now aching and I feel shattered. I’m bleeding still anyway, but I just ache. Is this normal?

I had my second elective c section 3 and a half weeks ago, I’ve taken paracetamol and am now resting but I just feel wiped out.

It’s a heatwave, recovery will feel like more of an uphill in this heat 🩷 Sounds like you are healing well and staying mobile which is great.

I think of it like the gym. You work out and you feel great but that night when you get off the sofa you feel the muscle strain and ache. Walking around post section is a workout, you are getting those muscles going, your blood volume is dropping 40%, your hormones are still firing and your organs are still moving back into position. If you are breastfeeding too, you are burning more calories doing that than your heart needs daily to pump.

It’s normal. Don’t let it discourage you but keep going slow and steady. Maybe rest tomorrow and get back at it on Monday

I was more bloated and achey after my second section simply because I had a toddler at home too.

Bleeding is normal. Some mums get up to 6 weeks of it and sometimes you can bleed a bit more if you’ve overdone it but that’s not a danger sign to worry about.

I swear the heat makes recovery harder, even when just sick. It zaps our energy, we are a bit more dehydrated and frazzled xx

Anyone awake?

Any moms awake at this hour? I’ve been really starting to feel the isolation from having my baby these last 6-12 months.

Induction due to preeclampsia

Hi ladies! So I’m 33 + 5 and I’m currently spiralling with panic!! I’ve recently (in the past 2 weeks) had high blood pressure readings at home and went to triage a few times but it typically levelled out. Last time I went to triage earlier this week, they ended up prescribing labetalol.

at the same time, we’d been having our growth scans and baby girl was always on the small side, she was steadily sitting around 13th percentile but then went down to 9th so had to have 2 weekly growth scans.

At the most recent growth scan this week, they said she’s actually dropped some more and is now 2nd percentile. They also did the placental growth factor where they took bloods and they came out slightly lower so consultant suggested they will just treat me as having preeclampsia despite my urine being clean and only having headaches but no other symptoms! I’m now being told that if she doesn’t pick up weight by the next scan then they would not feel
Comfortable letting me go past 37 + 6 weeks so I’d likely need to be induced.

I really don’t know how to feel about this, especially where I had a whole birth plan etc but equally I want whatever’s safest for baby girl! Anyone been through anything similar and can offer comfort?

Please tell me I’m not the only one 😭

Are there any other mamas who are genuinely pissed off at their husband for barely helping at night??? He tries, so I feel so bad … but I’m EXHAUSTED!!!!!!!!! I’m on ALL the time and I start work next month, so I’m freaking out.

Induction at 37 weeks

My doctor told me I will have to be induced at 37 weeks. What should I do to prepare for labor ? Worried because I had hoped for a birth without intervention.
