Hi ladies! So I’m 33 + 5 and I’m currently spiralling with panic!! I’ve recently (in the past 2 weeks) had high blood pressure readings at home and went to triage a few times but it typically levelled out. Last time I went to triage earlier this week, they ended up prescribing labetalol.
at the same time, we’d been having our growth scans and baby girl was always on the small side, she was steadily sitting around 13th percentile but then went down to 9th so had to have 2 weekly growth scans.
At the most recent growth scan this week, they said she’s actually dropped some more and is now 2nd percentile. They also did the placental growth factor where they took bloods and they came out slightly lower so consultant suggested they will just treat me as having preeclampsia despite my urine being clean and only having headaches but no other symptoms! I’m now being told that if she doesn’t pick up weight by the next scan then they would not feel
Comfortable letting me go past 37 + 6 weeks so I’d likely need to be induced.
I really don’t know how to feel about this, especially where I had a whole birth plan etc but equally I want whatever’s safest for baby girl! Anyone been through anything similar and can offer comfort?

Yeah I went through something very similar myself but thankfully only started to get worse near the end around 39 weeks.
My BP spiked around 26 weeks so spent lots of time going for scans and appointments. My baby was measuring on 50th so absolutely fine until we got to around 32 weeks and they said her tummy was measuring bigger so had to do a glucose test at home, everything came back fine and my bloods always came back fine too but spikes with the BP.
At around 39 weeks my vision started to get worse so ended up going into triage and being told I had to get induced there and then.
The comfort I can definitely offer is that because they have mentioned this, you have time to research into inductions and just advocate for yourself.
Epidurals are great for inductions as for me anyways they put me on the hormone drip and it ramped up the contractions and it definitely helped with pain.
If you are to be induced look into the different methods of inductions. I was given a gel

For different medical reason I was induced at 35 weeks (baby also small 3rd centile). Baby came out tiny but perfect and was only in NICU for 12hrs as he was perfectly healthy! He is now 15months and up to 25th centile.
