As a teen I had a lady doctor who I saw for everything she ended up moving and I started seeing a man doctor. I love him he’s wonderful. My mom saw him before I did and wasn’t comfortable with him doing pelvic exams, so she went to the gynaecologist and also made my appointment with her gynaecologist. Since starting at that practice, I have delivered two children there and have met and welcomed all six doctors with open legs. But unless you’re pregnant it is a BITCH to get in to see them. I’m seeing a nurse practitioner and the soonest appointment they could get me is a month and a half away. My doctor left the office he was at to open a practice of his own, and in that time of him not seeing patients I ran out of my med and had to see a new doctor. Turns out I love her too! When I saw her last I had complained about my IUD not working how it should and she said if I ever wanted to replace it, she would be happy to do it. Until that point I had never even considered my primary doctor coming anywhere near my vagina. Now I think my IUD is out of place and I need to see a doctor soon. My man doctor has concierge service that I pay a monthly fee for and I can see him anytime I want, but we’re a little too friendly for me to think it’s okay for him to see my vagina. His wife, who is now my physical trainer, is also his nurse and would be the one in there while the exam is happening which adds an extra layer of weird. But my new lady doctor works for the hospital and uses insurance meaning I would have to pay (probably a lot) for the visit to remove and replace the iud.
If you’ve made it this far and didn’t just answer the poll and move on what would you do? Get over yourself and just feel weird for 10 minutes or pay extra just to feel comfy?

I have had mine done by a Nurse Practitioner, my primary doctor, and an OBGYN. All women. My current primary is a man, but I have the opportunity of seeing a woman dr in the office if I can’t get in to see my OBGYN, those are my two options because this drs office doesn’t have a Nurse Practitioner. I use to only go to a Nurse Practitioner for everything. But they do still have to talk with a dr about your care before approving meds, or procedures.
