Driving post C-section

I know rule is to wait till 6 weeks check up in order to start driving, but anyone started earlier and did you reach out to midwife or gp to get signed off earlier? Also is that just being signed off by word during the check up or any paperwork to say you can drive again?

I drove again at 2 weeks. After my 1st I drove at 3 weeks.
As long as you can do an emergency stop you're good.
The first time I just sent a message to the doctor to ask it was ok and got a yes response, just in case my insurance needed it, but this time I didn't bother.
Speak to your insurance company if you're worried

My midwife said aslong as emergency stop and feel comfortable doing so. Also insurance needs to be okay

I think the guidance has changed recently, my car insurance said last week ‘you only need to let us know if you’ve been told you cannot drive’ which technically I haven’t. DVLA now states as long as you can put your seatbelt on over the scar without pain and struggle, make emergency stop and check rear mirrors without difficulty, you can drive. I lasted 3weeks this time as I’m recovering very well. I waited 6weeks with my previous two (8 and 7 years ago). I haven’t reached out to midwifery team, I’ll just mention it during my 6/8weeks appointment.

I was driving 6 days after my C-section.
10 days after my first.
No need to contact anyone it’s just when you feel ready. Check with your insurance company their policy on it . Mine doesn’t care as long as can do an emergency stop

Baby movements are overwhelming

I want to start by saying I am so grateful my baby is healthy and developing as she should be but she is moving and wiggling CONSTANTLY.

I mean more or less all day every day from the moment I wake up to when I go to sleep kicks and rolls. It is so lovely to feel but at the same time I’m finding it so overwhelming. I’m 30 weeks so have 10 weeks to go (at least!) and I feel I’m just wishing away the time because it is so over stimulating 🫠

Hoping someone can relate and I’m not a horrible witch for getting upset over a healthy happy baby 😭

Phoning MAU

Does anyone else feel bad phoning midwife assessment unit, phoned up for reduced movements and I just feel bad like I’m wasting their time and then I’m worried when I get there they are going to be annoyed at me!

Emergency 🚨

Hey moms, I just wanted to say if you don’t have an emergency backpack for you and your household make one now. My kids and I just ran out of the house with no shoes and all I had time to grab was a bottle and formula. All I knew was fire and grab all 4 of my kids. Im shaken but I learned to stay prepared for emergencies.

Birthday

Today is my birthday. I don't really have many friends or any family here in this state, except my kids & boyfriend. We can't afford to do anything for my birthday, except a cake. So, I was wondering if I could get some birthday cheers on here...... please 🙏
