So my mum was a stay at home mum for 16 years with me...she only had me and was a single mum. She told me its better for children to have their mother there so I gave up work which is really hard for me as work was everything to me....
I thought maybe i would try child care two days a week when I was pregnsnt and so I could compromise. My baby is super super sensitive like me however.
He is now nearly 2 and will not even look at new people he just wants them to go away. He cries at playgroup and asks to leave. I have no idea how I will integrate him into a preschool setting...
My friend effectively said I've made the wrong choice not starting nursery early because he doesn't have other siblings or cousins and now he's scared of everyone. He said young kids should be in nursery as a social setting.
Meanwhile im listening to psychology experts saying kids should be with primary care givers until they are 3...
I am in tears I do not know what to do...ive heard so much conflicting advice ....

Don't beat yourself up X every child is different! My mum stayed home with me and my sister and we were well adjusted and ready for school but then I sent my two older children to day nursery before school and they both turned into happy well adjusted adults!! You have to do what's right for you and your child. Everyone has an opinion but unless they're in your shoes they don't know what is right for you. Sending love and hugs your way🤗 xx

There is no wrong or right way to parenting everyone is different

Like everyone says, every child is different and no you haven’t damage your child. Nursery is just to help adjust to the environment and does help with socialising and what not. You just do what you feel is better for you because end of the day, you still have to deal with it. Hope this helps. xo

You did not make a mistake. You can’t know if he’s be the same or different going or not. Maybe start branching out and trying nursery in a day or two a week and see. Maybe go out more to where there are different people so he can get used to them. Mom groups, church, stores things like that. Do you think you’ll have another child? Where he can eventually learn to be with another kid inside the home instead of just around. If not that’s totally fine but I know sometimes that can be easier if you don’t have places to go with other kids

Don’t beat yourself up, my daughter is 3 and has never been to nursery and is really confident/social. I just think all kids naturally have different temperaments and you haven’t ruined him at all Xx

Honestly I’ve done the same thing, listen to the experts wait until three if you do want to send him, if he will be going to school preschool will probably help him.
I take my kids I have a 3 year old and a 20 month old to loads of play groups to encourage socialising although it isn’t important under 3
My oldest is pretty shy but honestly I don’t think nursery would make much of a difference as i think these things are down to temperament and my youngest is much more outgoing although younger (I was also very shy as a child although I went to nursery so 🤷🏽♀️) I’d say keep going to playgroup and play with him unti he begins playing by himself and eventually other children
Ultimately there’s a reason experts are experts and they have done tons of research following children into adulthood and the goal is to raise healthy adults right
Try not to worry about what other people say ❤️❤️❤️
