Would you take you kids to a place you know has no phone service?

I had the urge just now to take my kids up to the mountains where there is absolutely no cell service. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve never been on my own or my anxiety but I full on panicked after thinking about it. Like what if something happens? I’d have to drive almost an hour before I got service. My mom used to do this all the time with us as kids. Please tell me I’m crazy and to just go have fun

We’ve been camping a couple places with our kids with no cell service. I definitely feel uneasy. I don’t have a full on panic attack 😅 but I turn more into a helicopter parent, which isn’t me at all, because the fear of an emergency and not being able to get ahold of someone.

But somewhere alone with my kids without my husband? Probably not lol

I only do with my partner. I also know he wouldn’t put us in a situation he couldn’t confidently get us out of.

Not on purpose. Lmfaooo but I won’t say it’s never happened

911 calls normally can still break through even when a phone says there’s no service

Would you leave your 3.5 year old in the bath alone? And just go sit on the couch in the living room with your phone

I have been cooped up all day with my son because of air quality warnings and it’s been a lot grumpy day day and my husband gets home from work and also seems grumpy so he goes to the bathroom for like half an hour and then comes out a d I’m like hey can you start [our son’s] bath? I am just waiting for something to be done in the oven then I can take over. So he starts it and then a couple minutes later he comes out and sits on the couch and goes on his phone and PULLS A BLANKET over himself I’m like ??? I’m not done in the kitchen yet and he’s like ya he’s fine I’m like … what are you talking about he needs supervision. He’s like why (I mentally checked out here because obviously I’ll just have to do it myself) snd was like uh cause he could get hurt and my husband said and what would me being in there do … so I just stopped responding to him and went and did my sons bath. Am I being even remotely unreasonable? No he couldn’t see the bath, no he wasn’t just grabbing a towel or something from the other room, just lazy

Advice - Mother In Law

Every week my child comes home from
Their grandparents with nappy rash, a bump, new bruise, loose stools and when confronting my other half about it he says they are doing us a favour and will not say anything from the one time I asked why my child was throwing up from being fed stuff they shouldn’t at a very young age. This has caused a huge row and lots of things said and I don’t know what to do? Worrying that he doesn’t want his own child to not have all these things happen to them and I only want the best for my child 😢

Exclusively breastfed nearly one year old still not eating solids or showing any interest

My baby girl is a year old in a few weeks and still has no interest in solids. She will bat away any attempts to spoon feed her and when offered finger food will play with it but won’t put any at all in her mouth. She also doesn’t take bottles. She is starting nursery this week and I’m most nervous about how she will get on in relation to food. Has anyone had this experience with their little one and if so when did they start eating and how did the adjust to nursery?

Fiance is financially irresponsible

I am struggling. I am a sahm and have been looking for a job for 3 months but haven’t landed anything. My fiance works full time and we have a 1yo. Every month we are short on money. I’ve had to sacrifice things like conditioner just to make ends meet. Meanwhile my fiance goes to work and spends $30-$60 a week on food and drinks. We have had countless conversations about it and he always says he’s going to stop but he doesn’t.
A few months ago I found out he was gambling with a credit card that we share. He lost about 3-$4,000. I am getting some money soon in an inheritance and I feel like it would be useful to pay off our debt but I just don’t trust that he’s going to start being smart with money. I have done so many things to try to save us money and I never take our son to do things that cost money. But he’s not trying and idk what to do. I don’t want him to just expect that I use my inheritance to help us but I feel like I have to in order to get us out of this hole. I really really want a job and I’m trying but it’s so hard to find something in my field right now. I guess I’m just venting but also don’t know how to move forward with him. How do I talk to him about this and make him actually change? I’m thinking of using some of my inheritance for our credit card debt but he has to pay for portion he lost gambling. Uggghhhh. Sorry for the long text. I have no one to talk to about this.

Feeling like a shit mom...

I feel so bad sometimes. My son doesn't want to eat 80% of the time. He just wants to walk around, throw everything on the floor and that's it.
I keep waiting for the nap times and once he wakes up I'm checking what time is the next nap 🤦🏻‍♀️
I want to play more with him but he don't want to play with toys, he don't stay still to read. Nothing. Just wants to go to the floor and walk. And I just have to stay and have a look at him to see if he's not doing anything dangerous. When I pick him up to do something else he just cries that he wants to go back to the floor.
I just feel like I'm not giving everything of me. I'm with him 24/7. We don't have family or friends here and I feel a shitty mom to be always looking for his naps so I can have some me time, as before i used to be very independent and having a lot of free time.
