Fiance is financially irresponsible

I am struggling. I am a sahm and have been looking for a job for 3 months but haven’t landed anything. My fiance works full time and we have a 1yo. Every month we are short on money. I’ve had to sacrifice things like conditioner just to make ends meet. Meanwhile my fiance goes to work and spends $30-$60 a week on food and drinks. We have had countless conversations about it and he always says he’s going to stop but he doesn’t.
A few months ago I found out he was gambling with a credit card that we share. He lost about 3-$4,000. I am getting some money soon in an inheritance and I feel like it would be useful to pay off our debt but I just don’t trust that he’s going to start being smart with money. I have done so many things to try to save us money and I never take our son to do things that cost money. But he’s not trying and idk what to do. I don’t want him to just expect that I use my inheritance to help us but I feel like I have to in order to get us out of this hole. I really really want a job and I’m trying but it’s so hard to find something in my field right now. I guess I’m just venting but also don’t know how to move forward with him. How do I talk to him about this and make him actually change? I’m thinking of using some of my inheritance for our credit card debt but he has to pay for portion he lost gambling. Uggghhhh. Sorry for the long text. I have no one to talk to about this.

I would seek a conversation with him and show him what you have to go without, while he is doing well. Depending on how he reacts, I would then decide what to do with the inheritance money.

Fiance not husband. Put the inheritance into an account he can't touch. If he asks say im still waiting on it. Use the money only when hes short. Tell your family whomever knows about the inheritance to not tell him when it arrives. If he cant handle money dont pay everything off. Hold onto it until things like bills arnt getting paid. Putting an extra few dollars on a bill he doesnt generally look at. Make it stretch. But let him think everything is still high. Let him get the debt down a bit then oh hey the inheritance came through and use it to pay whats left. If he throws a fit that you have had it for a while tell him why and if hes still angry RUN WHILE YOU CAN.

My partner has money put up thats only used for emergencies. Im currently a stay at home mom to 2. I want to go back to work and im upset he wont use the moeny he has put up for them to start daycare so I can work. Hes short a little every month and I stretch everything as far as I can. But I also know its put up for a reason so I dont argue and just know its there for a reason. We will figure it out but emergencies happen and we would be screwed without it.

Would you leave your 3.5 year old in the bath alone? And just go sit on the couch in the living room with your phone

I have been cooped up all day with my son because of air quality warnings and it’s been a lot grumpy day day and my husband gets home from work and also seems grumpy so he goes to the bathroom for like half an hour and then comes out a d I’m like hey can you start [our son’s] bath? I am just waiting for something to be done in the oven then I can take over. So he starts it and then a couple minutes later he comes out and sits on the couch and goes on his phone and PULLS A BLANKET over himself I’m like ??? I’m not done in the kitchen yet and he’s like ya he’s fine I’m like … what are you talking about he needs supervision. He’s like why (I mentally checked out here because obviously I’ll just have to do it myself) snd was like uh cause he could get hurt and my husband said and what would me being in there do … so I just stopped responding to him and went and did my sons bath. Am I being even remotely unreasonable? No he couldn’t see the bath, no he wasn’t just grabbing a towel or something from the other room, just lazy

Curious what the moms think: continuing to put adult jokes in kids movies/shows?

This may be a controversial topic so please be respectful in the comments.
I saw this tiktok talking about a paw patrol episode wherre 2 kids are sitting on cement that's still drying. They stand up and they leave butt prints, but the boy has wet cement fall off as he stands up and it lands in a weird position, making it look like a penis and balls in the cement. The guy was upset about it and I definitely understand his perspective. Someone had to go out of their way to animate that frame by frame. Was it an innocent joke or a weirdo? (Ill add the pic in the comments along with one from bluey as well I saw)
But adult humor in kids shows and movies is absolutely nothing new. Almost all of the 90s and 00' cartoons had adult humor. And we grew to love these movies through a whole new lens because we were finally old enough to understand the jokes and references.
So i don't know, what do you think?

Advice - Mother In Law

Every week my child comes home from
Their grandparents with nappy rash, a bump, new bruise, loose stools and when confronting my other half about it he says they are doing us a favour and will not say anything from the one time I asked why my child was throwing up from being fed stuff they shouldn’t at a very young age. This has caused a huge row and lots of things said and I don’t know what to do? Worrying that he doesn’t want his own child to not have all these things happen to them and I only want the best for my child 😢

Dinner ideas in the heat

What is everyone feeding their toddlers during this heatwave for dinner?

My LO is 20 months and won’t touch dinner when it’s this hot.

All ideas welcome

Now a single mum

For a few months we had been arguing and yesterday he decided he’s going to leave but commit everyday to nursery pick up and seeing his daughter etc as till I’m home from work. He moved from a different city to live with me meaning his job is in my city and he’s going to have to drive 45 minutes everyday there and back to fulfill his promises which I do think he will hold to. I’m distraught, my previous relationship ended abruptly and I feel I’m now back in the same place again 4/5 years on. Our daughter turns 1 on friday and we are having a big get together with family from both sides coming over and I don’t know how I’m going to present being so happy knowing I’m now a single mum and this is not what I had pictured for my future I literally feel like I hate my life and myself for letting my daughter be born into this mess. On Friday he is wanting us all to go out together to the park and I just can’t see myself going back to the place we used to go and where we went when she was first born. I feel beside myself and just can’t see me ever being happy again. Anyone else in this situation or have been?
