I am intrigued as to any difference between offering both breasts compared to just one. For no specific reason, ive only ever offered one. My baby feeds a lot and is hungry (and grouchy!). I’m wondering if I should be offering both or if there is little difference!

I’m an overproducer so I’ve always only offered one. It’s worked well for me to alternate each feed.

You can definitely offer both, it’ll increase your milk supply and baby will decide when their full. If they still seem hungry you can definitely alternate. I used to :)

The lactation specialist I saw for a tongue tie on my son, had recommended I fed him on both sides after like 15-20 mins on one side to switch over. That way they stay full longer and you assure that they are getting a full feeding every time.

One boob each feed, when my daughter was just born I was switching her to the other book after around 10/15 minutes and she wasn’t gaining weight. Then the midwife told me to stop swapping her as she wasn’t getting the ‘good’ fatty milk at the back of the breast, only the more watery milk at the front.

If she’s still awake I offer both, more often than not she falls asleep at end of one boob and doesn’t want the other! The breast feeding clinic said if full after one and gaining weight etc that’s fine

My baby has a favourite boob 🤣🩷 but do use both. Hence why once bigger than the other 😳🤣

I offer both, one just isn't enough for him so as soon as he's stopped swallowing I move him over to the other

I’ve only ever offered one at a time because the milk changes throughout the feed so it becomes more fatty.
My baby put on 1lbs in 3 days whilst in hospital and the staff said it’s because he’s fully draining the breast and the switching boob advice is well outdated

I have an oversupply so just one otherwise my baby would end up super super gassy
