Partner doesn’t drive – any advice?

I’m due in November with my first baby, and we live around 35 minutes from the hospital. My partner doesn’t drive, and him passing before the baby arrives isn’t an option, so I’m just wondering if anyone else has been in the same situation? How did you manage getting to the hospital when you went into labour, and do you have any tips or advice? 🤍

Is there anyone else in the family or friends who can take you? With my first my mum was on call and she dropped us both at the hospital so my husband didnt have to worry about parking. If it's your first, you'll probably have enough time to get a taxi there if not. Have your hospital bag ready & next to the door x

Neither me or my partner drive and we've got 2 daughters. A 2 year old and a 7 month old. We just got a taxi when we brought them home both times. First babies like to keep you waiting so I wouldn't panic too much

I can't comment on going into labour because I was induced both times because both of the pregnancies had a lot complications. Have you got any family or friends that live close to you that could take you if you do go into labour? At the absolute worst, you'd have to call 999 and get an ambulance

We had the same issue. Used a local taxi firm and they were fantastic. We spoke to them near the time and they were very happy to help.

Opinions about c-section being sooner

I’ll admit this pregnancy has not been great. I’ve been so unwell the entire time and probably had a few weeks break in total of not feeling awful.

I’ve been diagnosed with costochondritis for my ribs which is extremely painful. Pain meds I’ve been given no longer help as they’re only supposed to help temporarily and I can only get relief if I’m admitted to the ward….

My 36 week appointment is coming up to schedule my c-section and I’m going to push for it to be the following week.
I’ve got a 20month old who doesn’t have a present mum atm from having every symptom like swelling, nausea, insomnia etc. This pain however is making me cry multiple times a day and I can barely breathe without the pain being so bad. Nothing can be done until my baby is born.

I am so grateful for my second baby however I’m just so over this pregnancy now and want treatment for this pain.

My question is, do you think they’d bring my c-section forwards if I advocate for it to happen after 37 weeks?

Has anybody else been in this situation

I’m 36 weeks, I have gestational diabetes (that I’m managing very well) and anemia, my baby is 8 pounds and 3 ounces, I asked my doctor if we could discuss an induction, I feel like I’m being forced and idk what to do

Fandom baby names

Anyone else find it cringey or hate it when people name their kids after something from a popular book, TV show or film?

Like when everyone was naming their kids from Game of Thrones or now I keep seeing ACOTAR names (love love love the ACOTAR books but no way was I going to name my child Rysand 🤪)
