IM SO CONFUSED

Last week my midwife said my stomach was measuring a week behind, so she said I needed a growth scan. (33w 3d) I go to the ultrasound yesterday, they tell me baby is 4pounds 5 ounces and says that’s in the 7th percentile and have me speak to a doctor immediately, doctor said I need to come in 2x a week for monitoring and a ultrasound every other week…. Here’s the thing I feel like they are freaking out for no reason I searched it up and it said 4.5 is on track or ahead for 33 weeks, Also she was practicing breathing in the ultrasound, and her heart beat is healthy.

Sometimes they just do that because it can mean high risk or i was same way with my second and in his case he came HELLA early.

Go by the professionals trained for this not google or chat gpt. Medical professionals HATE dr.google because alot if things aren't accurate anymore as everyones case may be different. They give you one general response vs knowing your actual results and records.

I ended up having a c section at 37 weeks gestation largely in part because babe was measuring on the smaller side. Mind you I am only 4’6. Babe was born at 5lbs 8oz, now 6lbs 4oz at 5 weeks old. She’s been generally very healthy but doctors still incredibly concerned about weight and have us waking her every 4 hours to feed. I also haven’t felt like all of the alarm is necessary.

I got told at my 36 week scan that my LO was measuring 7lbs. Carried her to full term and she was born at 5lb on the dot. They can get it so wrong both ways. Good thing is that you're getting lots of extra monitoring and get to see more of baby! I would just follow your gut if they start pushing for induction etc. you know your body and baby best 🩷

I am currently seeing my OB weekly due to my baby being in the 10th. It's precautionary, being on the small side could indicate a growth restriction, it could also be they are just a petite baby. But the doc wants to monitor the baby's environment (amniotic fluid, placental health, umbilical cord flow, baby movement, heartbeat) to ensure the baby is ok as best they can tell with the tests they have. If there is a problem it may not always present itself in one test on one particular day, it could be a problem that will eventually show itself as the baby grows, or under some type of applied stress. Or, again, there is nothing wrong with your baby and they are just small.

My baby has measured small the whole time, but has followed the normal growth curve. They are monitoring her weekly, but know full well she is likely just petite. I too am small, I'm only 5ft.

I’d say don’t stress too much as growth scans can be really inaccurate, as there’s such a large margin for error. Half a mm can make such a difference in centile placement, and baby is moving and so human error rate goes up. With that being said, I’d also just place trust in the professionals - also put a positive spin on things and see it as a positive that you get to see your baby so often 💕💕

Fandom baby names

Anyone else find it cringey or hate it when people name their kids after something from a popular book, TV show or film?

Like when everyone was naming their kids from Game of Thrones or now I keep seeing ACOTAR names (love love love the ACOTAR books but no way was I going to name my child Rysand 🤪)
