Are we all just doing this alone or do people still actually create villages of friends who become family?

I have a very small village of a couple good friends but it definitely helps. Its so hard for me to ask for help, so I honestly don’t, but they offer all the time and I know if I needed something I could go to them

My family was very big on the village aspect so it’s what I’ve always known. I live with my aunt and her lifelong best friend. My partner moved in with us. While we made the decision to have a baby was ours and ours alone, we did have family discussions about what that would look like for our village.
Socially I had to create the community I wanted and I’m still working on it. I started a discord for local moms in my area. I force myself to be out there and starting these conversations. It’s not easy and so not who I used to be but I realized I needed it. I have to put myself out there for the betterment of my kiddo. It’s absolutely doable and totally worth it!
