I work full time as an accountant and I have a 3 year old. Lately I feel like everything is overwhelming and work can be mentally draining at times. I literally don’t have time to cook proper nutritious meals or have any time for myself in between work, doing nursery pick and drop offs and we have just moved house. I spoke with a GP to explain how I’m feeling etc and they said they would sign me off work for a week or two if I feel I need that. Now of course it would be great to have some time off work to decompress and recharge but I don’t really want my team wondering ‘oh what’s wrong with her and is she not capable of handling the job etc’. I really don’t know how people manage multiple children as I only have the one child but I really am struggling at the moment. Just wondering how everyone else is coping.

So sorry you’re feeling like this🤍
It’s totally understandable and to be honest I’ve been feeling rather overwhelmed and discouraged myself yesterday. A full time job and house and child and husband is a lot onto manage. On top of it, one still has to find time to maintain friendships as well. We’re in the same boat and I have 2 small kids and a full time job and currently trying to make my side hustle a full time job so that I can leave mine as a teaching assistant in order to be more flexible.
If I were you, I’d definitely take the 1-2 weeks off. And use it to get the new place sorted and taking time for yourself. Just today I was thinking that I haven’t been out without the kids in months and it’s starting to affect me. So maybe next weekend if I can’t find a girlfriend to join me, just go out to watch a movie or have dinner by myself. Don’t worry too much about work and what who will say. At the end of the day, everyone’s situation is different.

My baby isn't even here yet and starting a new job while pregnant, exhausted, with a hip where the ligaments have loosened enough that walking hurts, while trying to get a nursery together and SD moved around to summer camps has me feeling overwhelmed. You are not alone!
