Toddler and baby

Is anyone else really struggling with a toddler and baby?

I can't believe how difficult it is some days, I'm really trying my best to regulate my own emotions so I can help my toddler but I honestly just couldn't today - I was totally stretched thin and just lost it.

I don't shout at my kids ever but I had to take myself away to another room and throw things on the floor in frustration, I was just so angry.

My toddler (3) was just having a day where he wouldn't listen to a single word I said. Generally he's a good child but now he's 3 he's suddenly a lot more testing and likes to ignore me.

He came into the house after playing in the garden with a mouthful of sand from his sandpit. I told him he can't eat sand and he'll get a sore tummy. But he just laughed and started grinding the sand between his teeth 🥲👍🏻
He went back out to play and did the same thing again, came inside deliberately to show me that he bad eaten sand again, so I closed the door and told him he couldn't go out to play in the sand if he was going to eat it. This triggered a massive meltdown and be screamed and cried. There's probably been 3 or 4 tantrums like that today.

Even small things like he'll take his little sisters dummy and put it in his mouth. I've told him countless times that he can't have her dummy, I've explained that we need to keep her dummy clean and if he wants something to chew/to put in his mouth he can have an icey pole or a drink, etc. (He never had a dummy as a baby so it's just a novelty for him)
But this triggered a tantrum too. Its just constant.

And my baby just turned 3 months and has just had her 2nd round of jabs. Since then she's been incredibly difficult to settle and her tummy has been extra windy, which the nurse says is normal for up to 2 weeks after the jabs, but it's been a week and I'm over it. She just doesn't settle unless you're actively walking around holding her, it's impossible to get anything done.

Ah sorry for the venting I just feel so overwhelmed these days and I'm struggling to keep myself calm and end up just feelings so burnt out by bedtime, but I never get to actually switch off as baby is so unsettled all through the evening and all night.

My daughter was 3 in March and wow anyone who says terrible 2s are bad, it’s nothing compared to 3 and mixed with a new baby 🤯 I have found 1-2 so hard, even getting out of the house everything just takes absolutely ages. There’s been so many days I’ve put my toddler to bed and just cried, you’re not alone, some days they like to test us! X

I feel you.. it’s HARD. So much harder than I ever anticipated x

I feel this. My 3yr old is such a good boy. Sweet, funny, caring, kind and also a complete dickhead some days 🤣 he's a turdler... Not a toddler 🫠🤣❤️ 3 is officially my favourite and absolute least favourite age!

Fresh air and activities helps honestly ❤️ but some days the selective hearing drives me to my limits!! Xx

Its now got even harder as my toddler has become unsettled at bedtime, doesn't want to go bed and has a meltdown and then wakes up around midnight having a meltdown again, which sets the baby off aswell its just a nightmare tbh im really struggling with it, your not alone, just wishing every day and week past in the hope it will get better soon 🫩🥲

Preschooler asks if Disney princess (Elsa, Ariel, ect) are real. Are you ruining the fun and saying no? Or lying?

My 4 year old has been very into asking if things are real. We talk about how magic isn’t real and now she’s asking if Elsa is real. She loves Elsa and we have seen her at princess party things.

I ultimately asked her what she thought and she pieced together that since Elsa has magic, she isn’t real. I’m a little worried that I have taken the fun out of princesses. 😅

The next day its like he tries to disagree with me on everything, hes loud and annoying

In a pickle…

MIL fell out with us since Mother’s Day (March 2026) because she said my LG is 6 months old and she’s still not had her on her own. She asked if we don’t trust her or something in which I replied not really because you haven’t show me the confidence you can look after her. (Bearing in mind, she comes once every 10 days and stays for an hour at most, never offers to change her nappy when she’s around and doesn’t give her bottle. Basically knows nothing about her. When she was 4 months she told me to lie her in the bath to let her splash). I haven’t spoken to her since March after she stormed out, but in the mean time my husband went to speak to her about what happened and cut a long story short she’s blaming me for everything and now has asked my husband to pick our LG to go her house without me. I’ve said to husband if she wants to come and see her she can come to ours, if she doesn’t agree then I will go with them to MIL house. What would you do in my shoes?

Partner Rant

Why do I feel so angry? He is a great dad but crap partner.
In my eyes he puts himself first and his needs, gym everyday 630am then goes straight to work. (which in the 2 years we have been together he has NEVER been to the gym). Today has gone for an all day tattoo session he works mon and fri 9-5 so weekends are what I class as family time. He won’t even offer to get up with the baby to give me a a lay in, I’ve mentioned it but every time I do it becomes an argument and we go back normal. He also has a child from previous relationship so we have him every other weekend and he is pre teen so doesn’t want to do anything so we get dictated by him on what we do on his weekends which my partner just allows. Along with the attitude and disagreements that I have to just grin and bear.

I feel like I have to beg for him to spend time with his baby and me. When he is home he is on his phone or moaning he tired ALL THE TIME.

I love him and I really want to make it work but at the same time I feel like I am being taken for granted in my own home.

Advice please 🤍🙏🏻

October 2023 Babies - Starting School

Hey mamas,

Hope you're all doing okay & haven't yet passed out with the British heat we've been getting recently 😬😭😂

My daughter will be 3 this coming October (🥹where😭has😭the😭time😭 gone?!😭)

I'm wondering, if mamas with kids around the same age, have you started looking at/applying to schools yet?

What are the first steps that I need to take?

The idea of it all is very overwhelming & I don't know where to start 😬😟🫪

How many meals a day is your LO having?

Just wondering when to make the leap from 2 to 3 meals a day at this point (9 months). Whenever we have tried a 3rd meal one of the others tends to fail ie not as much interest or consumption.
