Mums of little girls – quick question! 😊

I feel like boys have this easier😅as "willy" doesn't sound too grown up but you definitely know what they're talking about if they say that word.

But I find "vagina" and "vulva" so grown up for their age.

We currently call it a mini-moo. Just because she put me on the spot one day and I panicked and it kinda stuck- i think it might have been what i called mine as a child 😅 following for suggestions. I also think the V sound is hard for them to make.

18 month old girl here. We use correct names. I’ve worked in safeguarding children for far too long to not use the correct names.

They’re just body parts, the same as the arm, leg or finger.

Anatomically correct names ensure that if a safeguarding issue were to arise, your child is taken seriously from the start. Cutesy names do not. An abused child saying their uncle was playing with their flower or button (for example) would not raise alarm bells with anyone outside of the family/close friends. An abused child saying their uncle was playing with their vulva would.

When working in a nursery we were told to use the correct names too but i just call it her wee wees at the moment😅
