Hey all,
First time mum to be here due January 2027 š„°
Just looking for some recommendations for things that you found extremely useful after having baby for either yourself or baby. Also anythingās you would say not to bother spending money on.
Iām going to have a baby shower in November time and have started a wishlist and a few friends have told me to also put things on the list for my recovery for if I have a natural or c section birth and it got me thinking whatās some things you couldnāt have done without or things you didnāt expect to be as great as they are? Or even something someone bought you or baby that you couldnāt be without/ are extremely grateful for š
All answers are really appreciated Iām just interested to find out your answers āŗļø

These bad boys were a life-saver. I got massive ones so they were nice and loose over my c-section site, but either way (VD or CS) they're great for dealing with lochia and not having to constantly change pads when you can barely move š I felt really comfy and fresh in these.
Some nice baggy cotton PJs, button down PJ tops for breastfeeding.

So if bottle feeding id definitely recommend the nuby rapid cool I couldn't live without it after we started bottle feeding my son at 6 weeks he's now 9 months and we use it for every bottle stay clear of prep machines they don't recommended them, a decent carrier for when baby is fussy and you need to get things done! I had a c section so Ice packs to put on your belly when you need to take blood thinners after you get home as they sting like hell (not needed if you don't but might still be worth having), a nursing pillow even if not breast feeding as it's a nice place to set baby whilst supervising, lots of black and white books/cards for tummy time, lots and lots of muslins they come in handy for absolutely everything and you will go through multiple a day, since baby is due in winter I'd go for a nasal aspirator rather than a bulb syringe as the bulbs are a nightmare to clean and the aspirator clears them out better in my opinion!

I'd also avoid a changing table we have one and it's never been used literally just use a cheap changing mat on the floor bed or sofa it's more convenient than taking them to the room every time they need to be changed
