My daughter is nearly 20 months, and I’m currently trying to decide whether to have another baby. I was always confident I only wanted one (and took a long time to decide on any at all, to be honest) but now I’m wondering if a bigger family would be nice.
I don’t have a gut feeling either way and really like our current life - we still travel and do lots and have lots of fun as the three of us. I feel like I can see lots of downsides of another (plus we’ve been extremely lucky with our first in terms of health, sleep etc), but I can’t help wondering whether adding someone else to our family is the right thing to do. We have a very small family otherwise, as both me and my husband have lots parents, which also means we don’t have a lot of support around us.
So I wondered, what are others’ experience? Has a second child made life better, or do you wish you hadn’t rolled the dice?!

I have a 2 year old and a 10 month old and believe me its hard work. I dont regret my second for a minute she completed us. We too dont have a lot of support but we manage I suppose you have to. If you are undecided now wait a little longer its better to wait a little then end up being resentful as like I said it is hard and no 2 babies are them same

I'm planning just one but there's 4 years between myself and my brother and I'm older getting on with him great, we were close as kids too. My sister-in-law had two 18 months apart and struggles a lot even now they're in primary school.
I'd recommend just talking about it with your partner, recalling costs and things, seeing what supports the government can give, and do what feels right for you both. Keep that communication between open and on the same wavelength to support each other.

i have a 15 month old and im currently 12 weeks pregnant with my second but im definitely decided on this being my last, i always wanted 2 so my first wasnt an only child as i can only imagine how lonely it would be for her and honestly i cannot wait for my daughter to be a big sister, she will be 21 months by the time baby will be born also! all people are different so its your choice on whether you do really want another or if you want your daughter to be the only one but either choice is your choice, we only have the support of some of my partners side of the family which can be nice but sometimes i do wonder what it would be like if my family was involved, but its mainly because we live close by to his family but not my own! x

Has anyone had a 2 year old nearly 3 year old and a newborn? X
