Does anyone else not enjoy breastfeeding? I’m 3 weeks pp and just find it stressful. I’m having to use nipple shields as he has issues latching but he keeps pulling them off, he constantly falls asleep on the boob but wakes for burping and goes back on multiple times and because of reflux he is having to be upright for 20/30 minutes after a feed which means by the time I’ve settled him he’s waking for his next feed. All of this has impacted my ability to pump and I’m worried my supply has dropped. And he will basically only contact nap which leaves no time for me to sleep. Considering going to exclusively pumping but it seems like a lot of work

Yep I’m in the exact same boat, I’m 11 days PP and I’m mentally struggling with breastfeeding , my one is constant on me and I have an older daughter who I need to also look after and give attention but it’s so difficult and she’s feeling left out because baby is always on me and I need to use both hands otherwise he doesn’t latch on properly, he will slide off and then want to go back on again.
If baby is on breast a lot of the time I think it will increase supply rather than drop it? I haven’t had a chance to pump either , I can only do an odd one here or there that’s it

My little one will be 6 weeks on Sunday and we are exclusively breastfeeding. We had some challenges around 2/3 weeks where she would fall asleep constantly and not empty the milk etc. I did lots of skin to skin, let her feed on demand and by about week 4 we were into a better routine. She now eats around every 2 hours but will cluster feed in the evenings. I feel like we are starting to really settle on the milk now. Sorry I don't have any helpful advice as such, just wanted to let you know you're not on your own and it does get easier 🥰
Could be worth having your little one checked for a tongue tie if you're having issues latching or ask your health visitor to do a home visit and help with positioning 🥰

I’m 17 days pp and my son was diagnosed with a tongue tie straight away so have been exclusively pumping from like day three as he wasn’t producing wet nappies and hospital wanting him to have formula but I refused. I’ll be very honest exclusively pumping is a lot of work up until about 12 weeks you need to be pumping around 8-12 times a day to maintain a good milk supply. Which means every 2-3 hours. Of course if your boobs has the capacity to hold more you can change that number I tend to only pump 7 times a day and have a great supply. It’s not impossible but it’s a lot of work and requires a lot of time and a strict routine. I also exclusively pumped with my first born and did so up until he is two so like I said it can be done just requires a lot of time and patience can also be very lonely would suggest a really good hands free pump so you can get out and about.

But also if you can try some breastfeeding support groups they are very helpful and resourceful and hopefully could help you out.

Tbh I was struggling but found it less sore after 4 weeks. If it's the latch that's the issue then go to a specialist/ research what it should look like on YouTube/ tiktok
