C-section..

Anyone else feel like some people minimise or don’t appreciate how hard a C-section is?
I have 2 friends who both had vaginal births one that said to me “I wish I’d just got a C-section” like it’s super easy? (She gave birth the day before me and she knows I had one) She’s said a few other things as well and I did once say “but you haven’t had a C-section” because she was basically insinuating that it’s easier
The other one when I was talking about maybe going for a VBAC said “as someone who had a natural birth, I’d just get the C-section”

I find it odd as this is coming from people who haven’t had one and know nothing about the experience? I’d never say vaginal is easy because I haven’t done it myself so I think it would be an ignorant thing to say
It just makes me feel really shitty because I really struggled after my C-section, my recovery was pretty rough but no one even asks or tries to understand before assuming it’s just easy

Absolutely. I had someone make a joke about ‘too posh to push’ to me when in reality I was in labour for over 25 hours- 10cm dilated and had to have an emergency c section under GA due to baby position.
I was so taken back and upset by this I just couldn’t say anything.
She did say ‘oh I know you wanted to do it normally haha’ like that made it any better?! And ‘normally’?!
I would never dream of saying that to anyone.
The recovery was brutal for me- other women were up and about in the postnatal ward and I was hunched over unable to pick my baby up or move to the toilet without crippling pain. It’s major abdominal surgery and not the easy option.

The thing overall that got me was how few people asked how I was- even when they knew that I’d had a pretty difficult time during birth- we wouldn’t do that to anyone else having major surgery for any other reason!
Sorry for the long rant, just wanted to say I feel you ♥️

I'm sorry you're experiencing this.

I haven't had a C-section/gave birth vaginally however I have the utmost respect for C-section mums!

My SIL had a C-section 3 weeks before my lad was born and I know she too has experienced the "too posh to push" comments as hers was elective (baby was breech and she chose not to try and give birth vaginally only to potentially end up with an emergency C-section).

I've been doing my best to hype her up and remind her how strong she and other C-section mums are!

In fact this rap/song I sent her on Instagram says it all. It's by a guy who's wife also had a C-section and was getting comments like "she took the easy way out"

You csection mums are incredible. You are cut through several layers of tissue, you have dozens of stitches to close you back up and then you are expected to stand and look after a newborn within hours. The strength that takes is admirable! Inspiring! Leaves me awestruck!

Gave birth to my baby girl via c section. How to survive the first few days?

It’s been 22 hours post surgery. Baby is happy and healthy but I’m having a really rough time with pain. Not sure if it’s due to uterus contractions or the surgery itself but I’m having immense pain that’s not at all tolerable. Hospital nurses and doc expect me to sit and even walk. How to cope with this?

Should I be worried?

My little girl is 5 months and isn't rolling yet. Should I be worried?

She went through a small phase where she rolled a few times (tummy to back) for like 3 or 4 consecutive days and then she started teething and stopped rolling. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm not putting any pressure on her as I know every baby grows at their own pace but Should I be worried?

Waters broken but no labour

My waters broke a few days ago and with my first I went into labour a few hours later. This time round it’s been days and nothing. Drs are going to wait till Sunday to induce but has this happened to anyone else and any way of bringing Labour on ?

Am I a bad mum?

Fully in the depths of teething, separation phase, learning new skills and tricks, sleep a little all over the place… I really need a few hours to myself but I feel bad for even saying it. Been awake since 3:50am and little one has only just gone back to sleep but now I’m awake and can’t stop crying. This week has been hard!! Can’t help but feel like the worst mum for wanting a few hours away from my baby and partner tbh…
All I can honestly say is W T F is this 9 month phase 😒
