I have been suffering with morning sickness since finding out im pregnant and throughout July. I have had several days off work spread out and everytime feel bad. Today I was heading to work and ended up being sick so I message my manager that im not coming in however I feel guilty.

Oh don’t. Honestly when I was pregnant around week 15 I got terrible insomnia and I wasn’t sleeping at all and used to cancel work as my shifts were 10hrs long and I wasn’t driving to work on no sleep. I ended up reducing my hours which worked better. But I used to feel guilty but it is what it is. Pregnancy can be tough! Just look after yourself x

My boss ended up dropping me down to 3 days at work (I only worked 4 days) because I was barely ever in on a Tuesday due to my nausea and sickness🤦🏼‍♀️

Honestly ... the only time I've seen that is when a manager makes you feel bad.

I remember when my colleague went off sick, her manager was "lovely" but also said to her oh I had nausea too but I sucked it up and came in - what a nasty comment to make.

She was very nice to her otherwise.

My manager is OK, I can tell she's concerned about the team being buried in work, but honestly once you get signed off, it's heavenly, put your feet up!

Some people take sick days as if they are part of their annual leave depending on the companies policies !!!
Don't feel bad at all, I took 2 days off for the first time in about 3 years in my first trimester in March and if I had gone in I'd have been sick throughout the day and honestly nobody wants that tbh !
You have to rest and prioritise the baby and yourself.
I believe pregnancy related absence is / should be discounted by law anyway but check with your employer. Youre no good at work feeling crap anyway xxx

i felt so guilty but work with lots of mums luckily who all said the same thing that you and the baby are priority and that has to be your focus!

if you left they would replace you so your health has to be your priority but it’s a lot easier to tell someone that than it is to believe it yourself so I do understand

luckily pregnancy is something though that at least people can see is happening to you and tend to be a bit more understanding rather than if you were off sick with something else

Do you make your birthday a big deal?

Like if people don't celebrate you, don't wish you happy birthday, forget, don't come to your celebrations etc., does this bother you?

I try to say my birthday isn't a big deal and this year I really tried my best to just be grateful I'm alive for another birthday, but it's a big deal to me and maybe I should just embrace that it's something important to me 😂

Leg feelings

Every time I attempt to sleep my legs feel like liquid is going through them. If I then manage to sleep when I wake they feel stiff and hot. Any suggestions

Hip/back pain

Hello fellow mammas to be!
I’ve always struggled with hip pain, but I’m 28 weeks tomorrow and I’m finding myself in agony constantly. Every time I get up I’m hobbling like an old lady and I just can’t hack it anymore! Even through the night I’m tossing and turning because if I lay on one side for too long the pain wakes me up, but the other side hasn’t had chance to recover so I’m just stuck laying on one side in pain.
Has anyone been through the same and managed to find something to help? I’m at a point where it’s starting to get me down.
Thank you all💖
