5 year old sleep walking and night terrors

I’m honestly curious if anything else is battling this? About a year ago my son started having night terrors and will sleep walk most nights. He talks of monsters and having to kill these creatures. We have tried everything and now just manage it best we can. We don’t all him to watch anything that could even be remotely scary and we are cautious of what he eats as well. Idk if it’s stress so we really try to wind him down at night and make sure it’s peaceful before bed.

We battle night terror for 3 years it was awful, it’s best to not disturb them when it’s happening and comfort them when they seem to wake out of it but they don’t remember it or shouldn’t by the following morning. That’s what makes night terrors different than nightmares . I remember before I knew that night terror were a thing I would try and wake him up and it would just make the terror last longer and he would think I was whatever was happening in the dream it was awful not being able to console . But I started to recognize the difference between when he would have the 2 and it helped a lot because I knew that I just had to make sure he was safe and it would end in 5-10 min instead of 30-45 min. But hang in there you got this! Also my boy just has a very active mind ALL the time and I did decide to start giving magnesium drops at night and we haven’t had a bad night since, it took a week or 2 but it’s so good now and he is well rested .

My son went through this at 2 years old. It was terrifying and heartbreaking

He’s now 3. Doesn’t sleep walk anymore but he does wake up crying and yelling about monsters and ghosts and similar things. Idk where it came from

My daughter never sleep walked but she occasionally does have night terrors. She still be in her room screaming no and stop. I go in and let her come out of it and then i ask her about it and she doesn't remember anything. I ask if she had a bad dream and she says no. She doesn't know it remember. It usually happens when there's a big change happening or she's under a little bit of stress or had a hard day.

Movement concerns 28 weeks

I called triage just now to say I’ve had concerns over reduced movements, they said if I’d felt baby move at all that it was probably fine and because I have an anterior placenta that it can cushion movements.

I’ve always felt baby kick really strongly and in clear kicking sessions multiple times a day, particularly in the evening. I haven’t had that for the past week or so. I’ve only felt the occasional very soft low down movement and then yesterday I had a cluster of lightening crotch pains and braxton hicks throughout the day with a period like ache and back ache. No fluid or bleeding etc.

I just feel quite confused because I had a midwife appointment on Wednesday and she insisted I should have a movement pattern by now - the baby kicked during the Doppler and the heart beat was fine but that was probably the only time since Sunday that I’ve felt big movements like that.

I just feel a bit torn because yes I feel low down soft internal small rumble like movements occasionally like when sitting/lying when I woke up, after lunch and after dinner and it’s like 2 or 3 of them max at a time, but other than that it just feels pretty quiet and still. Movements used to feel so massive even with an anterior placenta and even if standing - is this just the new normal or should I be worried about a reduction? I’m only 28 weeks tomorrow and 50th percentile so I don’t feel like baby is so big that the space would be stopping kicks etc and I’m not feeling stretches or rolling/pushing in lieu of the kicks.

I just don’t know whether my midwife has freaked me out about a pattern and reporting reduction or if I should be pushing the very busy sounding triage lady a bit more?

Aubrey

Decided on the name Aubrey for my girl but a lot of people keep telling me that ‘Aubrey’ is the boy way of spelling the name.
What way would you spell it if you were having a girl? UK based❤️

Waters or pee 😭😅

I never thought I’d be one to question if my waters broke or if I just peed myself given that with my first it was a huge gush and then continuously flowed out of me until there was nothing left to leave but here we are! Lmao
I was lying in bed and went to adjust my undies because I had a wedgie (gorgeous I know 🙄😂) and there was a slight “gush” but when I say a gush it was almost like turning on a tap and letting it run on a low pressure for 3 seconds. Then it stopped. So I went to the bathroom to inspect because I was wearing a panty liner and figured it would indicate something based on the colour. But of course it missed the liner completely and had only gone up the back end of my knickers! The thing is- it didn’t have a smell. But there hasn’t been any more waters leaking or anything. Not even close to the amount that would be presenting itself if it was a full on water break.
Is there a way I can make it more obvious before I head up to the hospital to be told I’ve just peed myself? I remember reading somewhere to lie down for a few minutes and stand back up and sometimes that’ll move things/baby around to let out more waters so you’ll know 😂

Why do some parwnt wean their babies before 6 months?

Just genuinely curious, no hate. I just don't understand.

Like there's a mum in my babies group posting about wanting to start giving her 3 month old purees?

I had my friend round the other day and she was all "are you going to bother waiting until 6 months?"

I just thought it was standard to wait until baby could sit up straight etc?

I know there are some people that start at 4 months, but I never really understood why? Is there medical reasons? Or any other benefit to weaning earlier? Also how do you feed a 4 month old if they can't sit steadily in a high chair?

Anyone else too scared to have sex?

I’m 7 weeks PP after a c section, healed well and no issues but I’m so beyond frightened to even attempt it! I really want to get the intimacy back but I’m genuinely worried it’ll hurt or I’ll get an infection 😭

I waited until I was 4 months PP after my last section! I don’t want to do that again 😭
