Kit days

I’m just curious to see what everyone else has done. I’m due to go back to work on the 1st September, when the funded hours are available. But the closer I get to returning, the less I want to do my kit days. My job is stressful enough, and they’ve even tried to get me to work more kit days for this reason. I’ve spoken to people that started them, then didn’t do the rest because they realised they would rather spend time at home. Then others have said it’s helped them get a routine (as such).
So just curious to see what others have done/are doing 🙂

I'm head of my department in a secondary school.
I got back Nov. But I'm going in for the INSET day in September so I don't have to try and catch up on the safeguarding training later in the year as that will be an evening thing. And I don't want to be at work all day and then a couple of extra hours at the end of the day and be away from baby longer.

Plus I'm using a handful of KIT days to catch up on any changes for the new academic year, hand over from the cover teacher just before half term so I know where she got to with my classes.

Whilst I don't want to be away from baby boy, I equally want to reduce my anxiety and stress where I can leading into my return.

I envision between the start of September and October half term I'll perhaps use 5 days.

I've done a few but mine sound more relaxed. I just said I'll be in around whatever time staying a few hrs then off.

I cant carry a workload when off for so long so maybe that helps. i just do them to get a few extra pennies in the mat pay.

I had no kit days. Spending every moment with my daughter took priority. Besides, I kept in touch with colleagues via LinkedIn and got confirmation of the status of my tasks and they basically remain the same as they were left so I am not at all concerned.

I work in a primary school and started using my kit days once a week when little one was 4 months for a little extra money. I then moved onto shared parental leave and used the kit days for them too until i returned for the last 2 weeks of term in July to get my full pay back for the summer, and to also prepare myself for what my mornings and evenings would look like after work. Its helped reduce my anxiety about going back full time in September.

I get paid extra for my kit days, so if you get paid extra too then I'd say do it, but if not then don't bother

I didn't do any KIT days but do wish I had started him at nursery a couple of weeks or so before I went back so I wasn't double stressing about my first week back at work and his first week at nursery! But we survived 😅

I did 2.5 kit days and I’ve now handed my notice in and won’t be returning, they declined my flexible working request!

I didn't do any. I didn't wanna have to go back sooner than I needed to haha. X

Water broke

My water just broke 🫣clear fluid with light pink discharge. No contractions yet. I called the birth center, they have advised to either come now for an examination or in 4hours. They will admit if contractions do not start within 24 hours mostly induce.
Should I wait or go for the examination?

I know it's early but...

What are we thinking of getting our November babies for their 1st birthday? Any toy recommendations so I can start bargains hunting?

TMI sorry

Having pulsing in my vagina, and a weird pain that I’ve not really felt before. I’m 6 weeks and 6 days today so not sure if this is normal or not? Also what is everyone doing to help with gastric issues since being pregnant it’s been horrendous
