When we stayed in the hospital after birth they recommended a nappy change and touching arms/legs with a wet wipe/cold flannel to wake them for a feed

Have you tried a nappy change? It can be annoying as means you might end up changing again when they’re done (my twins seem to poo as soon as a nipple is in their mouth🤣) but works quite well especially if you have quite wet cold wipes etc x

I always do a nappy change then touch with a wet wipe and even then it can take her 20 minutes to wake up. But as she also has jaudice currently it’s harder to wake her

Colostrum

Are people collecting colostrum even if they intend to breastfeed?

I know it doesn’t always work out as planned, but my plan would be to pump if for whatever reason I can’t breastfeed straight away, unsure whether to bother harvesting

Bathing baby

Currently we are bathing our 9 week old as per guidelines of 2-3 times a week however shes a very hot baby and gets very sweaty and dribbles milk a lot or I leak milk on her so shes a bit gross. Does anyone bathe their baby daily and if so would you recommend? We only bathe with soap once a week and just use water the other times. But i dont want her to get any skin problems because of her sweat or milk sitting on her for too many days...

Is it normal ?

Hi everyone, my baby is 11 weeks 5 days old. Today he slept from 14:00 pm until 17:00 pm. He woke up because he was hungry and drank a full 10 oz (about 300 ml) bottle. Is this normal? Has anyone else's baby done this?

Sterilising bottles

Hi I just wanted some advice, my baby is now seven months and I have obviously been sterilising her bottle since she was born I’ve seen a lot of people say they stop once they start weaning. Do you think I will be okay to start putting my baby bottles in the dishwasher instead? She is constantly putting things in her mouth no matter how much I try to keep everything sterilised. It’s just impossible.🤣 we have also started weaning and I don’t sterilise the plates or spoons.

Advice needed please 🙏🏻 (I’m desperate 🫠)

My sweet girl is a little over nine months, I’m suddenly really struggling and dreading naps and bed time. It is such a battle, previously she would feed to sleep and be transferred to her cot easy peasy. Now the transfer is proving difficult and she screams the house down once placed down and I have to try many, many times. She’s fighting naps too (just having 2 a day now)
I’m back to work a couple days a week, shortly upping to 4 days. I feel like my battery is flat. I had finally got an ounce of personality back and now I’m back in survival mode all over again. I’m treading on eggshells as she seems so unpredictable. Crying in the pram after short periods, suncream is a big deal etc.
Any advice on how to navigate this phase or tips in what I could be doing differently. I’m starting to feel like I’m doing a bad job and hugely doubting my capability.
Ty in advance from a very worn down Mumma 🪫

My 16 month old passed out

So I have a 4 year old and 16 month old, they always play together but like all siblings they fight and argue. Usually easily resolved. But today, they were arguing over who was going to sit on the chair. My 16 month old got so angry and upset she was screaming at her brother, to the point she couldn’t breathe and literally passed out and fell on the floor. I obviously quickly picked her up and dealt with it. But I have NEVER ever seen anything like it, me and my son were both terrified. Has this ever happened to anyone?
