Are you getting because of being plus size? And just keeping it dry. You’ll need to lift the area a lot to dry it. With a towel or paper towel or just air to help. You’ll get real sweaty. When showering just wash the area very gently. I had an antibacterial soap I was able to use. And then just underwear that went over the belly

Keep your incision clean and dry. As a bigger girl, mine definitely got irritated if it wasn’t kept dry.
Other than that, it was fine.

I had mine 10 month ago. I just rinsed with warm water every couple of days then air dried it. I air dried it twice a day to begin with. However I did have a pico dressing on for a week.

What would be different in care if you're plus sized? I was 260 at the time of my cesarean, so def a big mama. The only thing I'd be mindful of is like everyday hygiene. The fupa, staying dry etc.

Unless you mean you're very big and have issues with daily grooming, it doesn't require any other type of care

Echoing everyone else - make sure it’s clean and dry. I had a c-section pouch and my baby was born in a heatwave, so the incision got quite sweaty and unfortunately got infected. Making sure you lift up your tummy if it covers the incision and airing it regularly should help

I had the pico dressing and then ordered skin fold pads that absorb excess moisture from Amazon and then whenever I took a shower I used dove antibacterial soap and then used a hair dryer on the cool setting to make sure it was fully dry before applying the skin fold pads. Mine healed pretty quickly with no issues. I would definitely recommend the PICO dressing, I think that’s the most important part.

Like everyone said keep it clean and dry. You cannot really use any soap on it for at least 3-4 weeks ( I was cleared by midwife at 3 weeks as it was healing fine but can be longer than that if any issues). Just use warm water and keep it try. Kitchen towels worked well for me to absorb the moisture and sweat

I asked for Pico dressing as it does have a device to absorb moisture and consultant said it is a good idea. I’ve seen it on my notes. On the end I ended up with the normal one bcos the doctor doing the C-section decided there was no need for pico

Did anybody else see the video of the man who took his newborn baby from the hospital?

So he took his newborn baby from the hospital and he's claiming that it's his baby he should be able to take his baby. So from the video the mom basically told him she didn't want him to take the baby to his house because they had had a domestic abuse situation and he said it doesn't matter because I'm her father so I'm taking her. There are people who are debating about this and are saying that a father should have a right to take their baby even if it is a newborn and then there are people who are saying that a newborn should be with their mother and they can work that out later but the newborn should be with their mother first. What do you think?

How did your 3rd csection go?

I'm pregnant with my 3rd baby..I have had 2 previous csection. 1 elective to my sleeping baby and 1 emergency for my first. I have to get a 3rd as my doctor has told me and that's fine as I would want one but I've just heard horror stories as you shouldn't go past 3. I would love the option of a another baby if it came to it but I'd be scared of another csection with more risks.

When did your first come?

Hi! I know people always say the first comes late, but my husband was 3 weeks early and just over 10lbs and I was over a week early and just under 9lbs, and our baby I measuring ahead by a few weeks (I know the 15% margin of error lol), so I’m trying to just have us prepared by November 1 since we’re due 12/3.

Has anyone here experienced having their first coming early just because they were “ready” to come out sooner? Inductions count, but I told my OB I only want one if I absolutely have to do it.

Just trying to be practical here and not feel crazy for wanting to have everything done an entire month before the due date including packed hospital bags and the car seat in the car 😅

Rolling

Is anyone's baby still not rolling? Mine seems to try when on her side but cant seem to make it. She is very strong lifting her head when doing tummy time. Is there anything you can do to help them or should I leave her to do it in her own time? First time mum so just looking for others experiences 🙂 she is also teasing us with laughs she smiles from ear to ear but has done a tiny laugh maybe 3 times
