Advice

Im 38 weeks +2 pregnant, and for the past week I've suffered with tremendous pelvic girdle pain. It's become so bad that I can hardly walk without being in agony, and I'm not sleeping because of it.

I have tried all the usual recommendations, but nothing at all is easing it.

I've had some tightening across the bump all week, and baby seems to be moving very vigorously now too, which comes with the sharp crotch pain. No other signs really. I am not really sure whether to phone triage today to get advice.

Obviously, I'm due soon, so referral to physio is Obviously not an option. Do I just need to ride this out somehow? Or could I maybe get some medication to help elevate the pain?

Last night I also noticed my hands and feet getting hot.

I've contacted my midwife for advice and waiting on a response. Any advice would be very welcome as a FT mum to be.

Thank you

I’ve had PGP in my last 3 pregnancies, so I feel you, it’s horrific, I’m 35+5 now and STRUGGLING, today especially, I can’t really advise anything, I had physio the first pregnancy and it didn’t help me at all, the hospital offered me codeine, which I did take alongside paracetamol, but it was towards the end and my son was then born with withdrawal from the codeine! :( so I wouldn’t recommend, they couldn’t offer me anything else, just a case of riding it out :/ I am struggling to take even the smallest steps today I’m in agony :/ if you put some pressure on at hospital they might consider an earlier induction at 39 weeks?? They did this with my youngest x

I had PGP with my first thankfully it didn’t start until about 38 weeks so I just rode it out but this time it started for me about 28 weeks and has got progressively worse despite physio.

Unfortunately as painful as it is I don’t think there is anything we can do other than ride it out 😭 it makes it so difficult when you want to keep moving to help labour come on but you’re just in too much pain to do so 😭

I don’t know about you but I find evenings particularly worse than mornings so I try and do anything I need to do in the morning and then rest in the afternoon/evenings (as much as I can with a 3 year old!)

Pulling to stand

My 6.5 month old has been pulling to stand the past week or two. I have read a lot that babies this young really shouldn’t be standing because of the position
makes them hurt their joints, but we are not forcing him in this position. He’s doing it himself just wondering if anybody has experienced this with their babies if you have seen it affecting them? Should I be stopping him when he does it or encourage him to do it?

Midwives just showing up at door

Hi all,

I've just gave birth 10 days ago and had my day 5 appointment to take off my dressing. My baby also got weighed at this appointment and had lost 8grams. Guidance states that if it's more than 8 to 10% then they write up a plan to help with weight. I was supposed to go back for anotjer weigh in but this wasn't mandatory. Anyway today someone showed up at my door to do a weigh in. No phone call or morning before hand. Is this the norm where midwives just randomly show up?

Hello,
I need a bit of an advice here, my baby is 6 weeks old and he has a lot of mucus in his throat and nose which is giving him trouble which feeding and sleeping, as he feels chocked with mucus while he is sleeping. During his feeds he has milk flowing out of his 1 nostril. This happens with every feed. Is this normal and are there any remedies for this???
