Dates.

I recently posted something saying I found at at 2w5d pregnant. People were saying it’s impossible to find out and I’m now worried that somethings wrong with my baby.
From the first day of my last period when I tested positive I would have been around 4 weeks pregnant, when I had my early scan I got dated back to 6w4d instead of 8 weeks. So when I tested I would have been 2w5d pregnant based on my scan, but if I use my period dating id be 4 weeks.
Everything looked okay on the scan the baby had a heartbeat I’m just so confused to as how I could of found out that early, when I tested I was around 7-9dpo and I do ovulate a lot later that an average woman. My cycles are all over the place as I’ve also just recently had a baby back in November. I’m now 8w3d pregnant and all my symptoms are as they should be I just don’t know what’s going on and it’s confusing my brain.

The body is a weird and wonderful thing. It's not 'typical' to be able to find out so early as it usually takes 6-10 days post ovulation for implantation to occur. But anomalies happen.
Perhaps you ovulated at a different time or maybe baby development is just on the slower side at the moment? I'm sure by your next scan baby will be much bigger.
Your scan went well + your symptoms are as expected so try and not worry too much at what people were saying. If your worried, get another scan, phone the early pregnancy unit or midwife (I assume you've had a booking appt?) talk to someone professional rather than on here because everyones experiences are so different and it'll just cause unnecessary stress! Stress that you don't need! Hope you're doing ok! X

Arę you calculating how far along you are from the first day of your last period, known ovulation or implantation?

I found out probably around similar time. I knew when conception was, guessed implantation and I could tell before a test confirmed it that I was pregnant. I just waited until I got that first faint positive, which was at around 7 days post implantation and 9 days post conception.

Some of our bodies are just more sensitive and we’re more self-aware. I’m definitely very in tune with my body. Try not to think too much about it, also why would it be worrying? Surely getting a high hCG result early on is a good thing?

I wouldn’t worry too much. At this stage the slightest difference in size changes the dating a lot. I believe you probably were 4 weeks when you found out, rather than 2.5 but as long as baby is growing it doesn’t matter that much. When you have your nhs dating scan that will finalise the dating no matter what.

I had an early scan with my last pregnancy and it gave me a May due date. At my nhs scan the due date was then changed to a whole week earlier based on their measurements. I know that was physically impossible based on when I ovulated but it doesn’t matter. Baby was born healthy. The dating isn’t an exact science and after the 12 weeks scan they don’t change it again, or else I imagine it would end up changing a lot!

How long does your “adult time” usually last?!

My husband is convinced that going for an hour plus every time is normal and that I should be thrilled. I prefer a good 15 to 20 max start to finish. I rarely am in the mood cause I know i’m about to lose a full hour to hour and a half of personal time especially since we have two small children so my personal time is precious 😩. Do you guys have hour long sessions all the time or is this abnormal and i’m actually not crazy for not enjoying it?! It’s also not every now and again it’s EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Are there such things as an “inappropriate” name for a baby?

Examples - names of cities, word spelled backwards, names of tv characters, etc.

Or is there no such thing as a wrong/ inappropriate name?

*Not referring to curse words as names..

What put you into labor?

I want to hear all the stories! With my son I did yoga and was dancing while reorganizing my closet when my water broke. I am getting closer to my due date now and i am curious what worked or didn't work for other moms.
