Induction Stories (POSITIVE ONLY)

I was induced at exactly 39 weeks, went in and contractions were very tolerable until pitocin got pushed up to a 6 or 8, I can’t remember. I asked if there was other options than the epidural and they gave me nubain and some zofran just in case it made me nauseous. I ended up opting to get the epidural as well just to ease my mind. I got the epidural placed after I got my water broke (I would recommend before if you choose to get it but it was still tolerable without it). I believe I was about 5ish cm dilated when I got the epidural. I ended up going to sleep on my left side since LO was having very minimal heart rate issue from the pitocin just to be safe. I only woke up to the feeling like my right buttcheek was cramping so I called my nurse in and she had me roll to my back and she checked me only to find out I had gotten to 10cm in the span of about 4 hours. Delivering was easy for me some how and I only did about 8 pushes before baby girl was completely out and on my chest 💕

Got induced. Got the epidural at 4 cm . Sucked as much gas and air as I could and look it didn't progress but the actual experience was like a musical episode of scrubs. I was high as a kite felt very little and we were listening to a Spotify happy playlist and planning the midwifes holiday. Id still say it was good

Being induced is hard, but it’s for the safety of you and your baby so remember that. You’re doing what’s best and that’s being a good mom. Don’t push yourself like oh I can think I can get x amount of the way through natural. Pitocin is hardcore and your body is ready like normal labor, get the epidural it’s ok. I was induced and my baby came out perfect and healthy and it protected me from possible eclampsia. Labor was 24 hours but pushing only 18 boom. Watch movies, eat before you’re unable to get that epidural before you’re at your limit

I was induced at 37 weeks started off at 10pm with a gel went to sleep for 6 hours they came to check had another one slept for another 6 hours then had my waters broken and contractions started properly went 10 hours with just gas and air had an epidural at 7 cm dilated labor for another 3 hours pushed for 15 mins and she was out

I had to be induced at 38+2 due to preeclampsia, luckily I didn’t need Pitocin. They used the string that they stick to your cervix. It was put on at about 4 pm, my water broke at 10:53 pm and my daughter was born at 4:01 am the next day. I hardly needed to push. I did get the epidural early on and just dozed and watched Netflix until it was time to push.

I was induced at 41+2 and as they had to break my waters and I over carried my girl, around 9pm, after like 20-30 mins contractions started and had contractions for around 40 mins and I asked for epidural, at 1am I was 6cm and around 3am I was ready to start pushing and gave birth at 3:45am , I had a very positive birth and quick birth

I was induced at 39+3. Had the balloon inserted on the Friday night at 9pm. Fell out at 6am. Went into hospital around 9am. Was 4cm dilated. Had to wait till 7pm to move to labour ward as it was so busy. Waters were broken by 9pm. I was 6cm dilated. Midwife wanted to start pitocin straight away but I asked to try on my own first as I’d heard horror stories about the pain. Got to around 1am and I was only 6.5cm dilated. So they wanted to start pitocin. I agreed but wanted the epidural for it 🤪 got the epidural. Pitocin started. Every time they upped the pitocin, babies heart rate was dropping to around 90bpm when baseline was around 140bpm. But I asked to just let my body do its thing. By 4am I was 10cm dilated and ready to push. Baby girl was born at 5.27am🥰 i absolutely loved my labour🩷

I was induced due to high BP at 41 weeks and was already 3cm dilated. They popped my waters and I asked for an epidural before the pitcoin. My entire labor was painless! Pitcoin started at around 11pm and my daughter was in my arms at 5:23am. Had some lovely ambient music playing and the best midwife and student present.
My advice is to not have a strict plan, I went with the flow and it went so well. Only thing I asked for was pain relief asap 😂 . Just have lots of snacks and keep hydrated 🩷 you’ve got this!

I had an amazing induction story! I scheduled it at 39 weeks since I had not had any contractions or signs of labor. I did not want to go past 40 for risk of c section. From admission to baby’s arrival it was 26 hours.

I had negativity towards my decision, but I knew I didn’t want to wait after 40 weeks, I had heard that the wait and see method can be more “dangerous” then having an elective induction. Trust your gut and the peace you have now. It won’t matter once baby is here how they came. You are strong no matter what!!

Mine was amazing wayyyyy more positive than my spontaneous labour, i think the worst thing for me was the waiting i was admitted on the Saturday and was already ready to have my waters broken but had to wait for a room to become available on the delivery unit to get them broken, i finally had them broken at 6pm on Monday but hadn’t progressed as quickly as they wanted when i was checked at 10pm (still 3cm) so policy was to put me on pitocin but i decided to ask for another hour because i could feel things progressing pain wise and the staff were so lovely about it and actually said that they were hoping I’d ask because they also agreed i didn’t need it and then baby girl was born at 1.21am on the Tuesday, the only pain medication i had was diamorphine and gas and air and i only pushed for maybe 10mins with absolutely no intervention x
