So at a scan today 39w5 they tell me baby is in the 95th percentile weighing 9lbs10. I was originally planning a homebirth, after them telling me all about tearing and baby potentially getting stuck I’m thinking shall I just have a c section. I’d hate to go through a traumatic birth just to end up with a c section anyways. Any advice?

I’m having a c section for this exact reason, but at 37 weeks (next Wednesday) I had a 9.5lb baby for my first and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone lol

Was your first baby big?
Just remember how inaccurate the scans are this late. Could you opt for an alongside midwife unit instead?
As someone who’s had a VBAC, I would always be trying for a VBAC 🥹
I guess maybe the question is, would you be more disappointed if you didn’t get the VBAC or you didn’t give yourself a chance to try? Ultimately only you will know the right thing for you and baby

I had this with my second in 2023 and got scared into having a second section instead of going for my VBAC that I really wanted.
I originally wanted a VBAC this time round as it was going to be my last chance to try and ended up having the choice taken away from me due to being pregnant with twins 🤦🏻♀️
Do what is best for you as it’s your body.. if you want to try then try but just be aware of what could happen as it could be completely fine xx

Are they generally not accurate at this stage? I didn’t realise that. I’m going to ask tomorrow about the midwife led unit. I think they scared me a lot with talk of tearing and baby getting stuck 😬
