Am i normal?

I'm 9 months pp. I'm the biggest I've ever been, I am really trying to lose weight but it's not seeming to be shifting. I feel run down, ugly and just like the shell of myself. I love my baby with every part of me but I feel like I'm lost. I don't know my style, I don't know what I enjoy. I don't know what I want to do with what little free time I have.
I'm so burnt out constantly and tired I don't think any amount of sleep will fix me. I feel like I have to rush my way through anything where I'm away from my baby. Constantly comparing my worth to someone else and feeling less because I'm bigger. This is all tied to other people making comments about my weight and almost saying I'm less attractive now.
I feel like I'm failing at everything. I try my best with the housework, cooking nutritious meals and looking after everything and everyone but I'm bored. I feel like its an endless cycle of make food, clean up after making food, laundry, housework, changing nappies, bedtime and then I'm just doomscrolling because i have no capacity, I know my life will never get any easier and I'm living to make sure my baby is well looked after. I want her to have everything I didn't have and more.
I love my husband, my family is ok but we're not close. I don't really have many friends and a lot of the time I feel really alone like I have no one to talk to.
I know my life is good, I have a supportive husband, a nice house (although messy) a beautiful baby so I am grateful but is this normal? Does everyone feel so overwhelmed, burnt out and not sure who they are or what brings them joy? Is this part of motherhood and matrescence or is there something wrong with me?

I feel the same way! This is the heaviest I’ve been. And it’s been a struggle mentally. I don’t feel pretty or womanly or anything like that. I get it!

Definitely normal, I felt all of that with my first born. Just had my second and now I know it’s only temporary. I was able to find myself again once my first born was a little older. This time I purposely set time aside for myself even if it’s just when my youngest is napping. When it was just me and my first born during my maternity leave I kept trying different hobbies and reconnected with old ones. My husband is also very helpful and supportive. He makes a lot of time for our kids, myself and our home when he’s not working. We share the housework and he carries more of that since our youngest still needs a lot of my time.

You are definitely not alone in those feelings. It takes some work but it is absolutely possible to find yourself again.

I can’t speak too much to the weight journey you are on. I was always severely underweight trying to gain it. Finally kept it after my second born. All bodies are beautiful and the media seems to make the public forget that sadly.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with you. But it could be helpful to talk to a professional. Sometimes ppd can sneak up in ways you don’t realize. 🤍

I do feel same way . I’ve gone from
A size 8 to 14 within 2 pregnancy. I look at myself and I feel like my body is a stranger to me. Shopping for clothes is no longer an interesting experience. But above all the sadness I see myself has a vessel that a gone through a lot to bring a human being to life. So I have to be patient to get me back

Birthdays

As my birthday rolls around in 5 days, I am feeling a sense of uneasiness or sadness. I just feel yet again there are no friends, no plans, no celebration of life, and hell my man doesn’t “do birthdays.” I know birthdays don’t mean much to some but it’s like I’m longing to feel celebrated just once in this life. Last year I pre-ordered myself flowers and cake and a gift to be sent to my door on my day so I could feel surprised lol Just sad really. I think I may find something to do with my little guy.

C section advise

Im a second time mum and am anxious about the birth.
I am considering a planned C section. I have a (then) just 3 year old and a large dog. I do not have spontaneous childcare nor dogcare and need to plan a lot in advance, thats part of my labour anxiety of not knowing when things start of (ie we do NOT in any way have over night childcare at all as we dont have friends or family where we live right now).

Please can you share your experiences on c section recovery with toddler and dog - the only one to help will be husband, who will be off for 3ish weeks.

I'm UK based and hospital is about 45 mins drive away.

Thanks for easing the mind of one anxious mama!

PREGNANT WOMEN DON’T COMPLAIN ENOUGH

It’s 3:40am. I am lying in bed unable to sleep. So uncomfortable, congested, hot, need a wee every 5 minutes etc etc. I just can’t help but feel completely enraged that nobody warned me how hard pregnancy is. I can’t help but feel like women have been programmed not to talk about this/complain/warn other women to make life more enjoyable for men. It should be a WHOLE thing. There should be more support available for us. This whole experience is so isolating and frustrating. I feel like writing a book/making a documentary to warn/prepare women 😂 Excuse this breakdown - not being able to sleep makes me emotional. But is it just me? I can’t stand being pregnant and I want to shout it from the rooftops!!!! 📣
