Im a second time mum and am anxious about the birth.
I am considering a planned C section. I have a (then) just 3 year old and a large dog. I do not have spontaneous childcare nor dogcare and need to plan a lot in advance, thats part of my labour anxiety of not knowing when things start of (ie we do NOT in any way have over night childcare at all as we dont have friends or family where we live right now).
Please can you share your experiences on c section recovery with toddler and dog - the only one to help will be husband, who will be off for 3ish weeks.
I'm UK based and hospital is about 45 mins drive away.
Thanks for easing the mind of one anxious mama!

I’ve had two c-sections 18 months apart, have a dog, and no ‘village’ to help with childcare, so similar situation! I actually found it to be completely fine, but everyone does heal differently. I was baby wearing at a grocery store around 5 days PP, albeit walking was a bit slow. My husband is really hands on which was helpful but like you he didn’t have very long off. We kept my first in nursery full time and to be fair I think it would have been a Lot harder with both on my own those first couple of months.

I've heard that in some hospital they let your kid stay with you once you're in the room you will be sleeping in, you could ask at the hospital if they allow that

I think it might help if you say what country you’re in, as they’re different in approach to things like c section, inductions etc
