As my birthday rolls around in 5 days, I am feeling a sense of uneasiness or sadness. I just feel yet again there are no friends, no plans, no celebration of life, and hell my man doesn’t “do birthdays.” I know birthdays don’t mean much to some but it’s like I’m longing to feel celebrated just once in this life. Last year I pre-ordered myself flowers and cake and a gift to be sent to my door on my day so I could feel surprised lol Just sad really. I think I may find something to do with my little guy.

I say go on a little trip with your son just the two of you!!! Even if it’s just for the day/afternoon!

This was me this year. I turned 35. My husband had to work in office and my son was at school. I went to the spa and spent 4 hours there getting 4 treatments. I then went down to the lake for lunch by myself and I thought the sunshine and waves would cheer me up but it made me more sad. Seeing all the people with friends and family. We went out for dinner as a family and my husband gave me a gift. I guess I was just expecting a little more.

I am in a very similar situation. For my last birthday, I dressed my son and myself in matching outfits and we went to his favorite indoor playground and out for pizza afterwards. My aunt and cousin met us at the restaurant, which was a pleasant surprise. But I just woke up determined to keep a smile on my face. 💛
Reading all these makes me want to start a birthday club or birthday chain. Even if we just send each other a card. Y’all deserve so much more.
