Long post
I’m a FTM to a 2.5yo. We are starting to consider trying for a second baby.
I’m not a young mum (in the sense of having had my child really young), I’m in my early 30s. I was/am very happy with the age I conceived/became a mum.
I can’t help but feel a bit sad that my friends - 2 years on - still aren’t considering having children. They are in long-term relationships and/or are married. I wouldn’t express this to them, nor would I put any pressure on them. I appreciate everyone’s journey is different.
I just feel a bit gutted that my child may be a lot older before they have theirs. Appreciate we will meet more friends as we go along particularly when starting school.
My friends are living abroad, having girls’ holidays etc and as above I just feel a bit sad. Also appreciate that perhaps in future, while they are navigating what I’ve been navigating now as a FTM, we likely will be getting back out exploring the world etc (hopefully you know what I mean)…
Any words of wisdom?
Anyone else had their child be the only child in the family and friendship group, thus being the oldest by several years?
