Newborn sleeping through night

Hi, I’m wondering if anyone else has been through this. My 2 and a half week old baby feeds really well during the day, and over the past few nights he has started sleeping for longer stretches overnight.

I’ve been waking him for feeds, but he is now above his birth weight, so I’m wondering if I still need to wake him or if I can let him sleep until he wakes himself.

I’ve started letting him sleep for around 5 hours instead of waking him at 4, but I can’t help worrying whether I’m doing the right thing. Has anyone else been in this position?

If your baby is gaining weight and is acting normal, there's no reason for you to wake them to feed :> some babies just like sleeping more

My little one did that... when she was like 3 weeks, she was sleeping for 4-5 hour chunks pretty regularly with some of them going longer. She was gaining weight, etc. so I just let her sleep as much as she wanted.

Overfeeding anxiety

My baby boy turns 7 weeks old tomorrow. He was 4 kg-8 lbs 13 oz when he was born and he’s already over 6.8 kg (15 lbs)!
I started with expressed breast milk but for the last couple of weeks I’ve been breastfeeding.
I’m super worried he’s gaining weight way too fast. My midwife, doctor, and hv all told me it’s totally normal for a breastfed (expressed or not) baby, but I’m still anxious about it.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? I constantly have this fear that I'm doing something wrong and overfeeding him.

Contact naps

I know contact naps at 2 weeks old are absolutely normal, but if your baby doesn’t contact nap and is perfectly happy falling asleep on their own… how do you do it?? My little one at the moment will only nap with me if swaddled, rocked and on me, which is exhausting and rather painful if I stand for too long… what’s your trick?!

Formula

What formula brand do you guys suggest for newborns?

It’s my first baby and I’m genuinely stuck on what formula to get and what formula would be best🫣

Am due in December!

Jealous

Is anyone else really jealous and just annoyed when other people are holding your baby?

Like when my baby is crying or fussy, please hand them back to me… also getting really annoyed when people are begging to watch my baby alone.. 🥴 like why do you want my baby so bad type of thing?…

If so, did you ever get better with your emotions and learned to trust people with your baby?.. I just can’t imagine letting someone else care for my child as my parents themselves never handed me off to anyone unless it was blood family..
