I'm still breastfeeding my son who will be two in a few months.
It still feels completely natural and is mainly a way that he settles himself but I am thinking of gently weaning at some point soon.
I am more aware of other people's opinions about it now he's a bit older, despite this being completely normal in a lot of places and the World Health Organization still recommending brrastfeeding up to two years of age or beyond.

Yeah, I also nurse still with 23m. I never planned or wanted it, but it feels the right thing for us and it’s wonderful to see how much it fuels and supports her still.
Who says minimum two years like you say. So good job!!!

Well done! Keep nursing for as long as you and your child are happy to, it never stops being beneficial. My daughter self weaned just before she turned 4.

I breastfed my last baby until he was almost 4 years old! You do your girl!

I BF my daughter til 4 and my son til 3. When I took my son to mothers group I also ended up meeting my bestie there she was also Bf her boy same age as mine. Then 18m later she had a girl (2U2) and was Bf then both in tandem. She BF the boy until he turned 4 and continued with the girl until she turned 3 (now the boys are turning 7) so being around her BF around her made everything feel more normal. It’s good to have friends that are also not only BF, but one or 2 that are extended BF. (Rare to find nowadays though)

Natural weaning age started at 4 until formula companies made it out to be weird. Also people have to return to work so that probably didn’t help with the perception that it was ‘weird’ but it’s the most natural thing in the world.

I’m still BF at 20 months. It’s the most natural thing and it really regulates him rather than provides much milk. He’s absolutely obsessed though and it’s causing him more distress than good I think now and waking him up 7 times a night 😩😩 so I think it’s time to stop.
