Time off for appointments

Just wondering if everyone's managers are allowing them time off work to go to appointments, without having to make the time back? As far as I understand we're entitled to this. My manager took the time off me to go to my scan, which was only an hour. Should I be saying something?

100% they have to allow you time off for your appointments

Pregnant employees have 4 main legal rights:

paid time off for antenatal care
maternity leave
maternity pay or maternity allowance
protection against unfair treatment, discrimination or dismissal

Yes absolutely say something!! I’d go to HR immediately over your manager, you’re allowed paid time off for all pregnancy related appointments, and you definitely don’t need to work it back xx

I'm currently having an issue with this. I teach and my school has asked multiple times to book my appointments outside of working hours. I've got the union involved and we have a meeting on 1st September.

Help

I’m due in 5 days and today I have been in pain down below and keep getting sharp pains shooting down my privates and it’s like there’s pressure there and my lower back is also in pain, my waters haven’t broken. I don’t have an appointment until I’m 41 weeks, which is in 12 days. I’m starting to struggle to figure out if I need to wee or if it’s the pressure and pain. Has anyone else experienced this before? I can’t tell if they are contractions or something else.

Different last names?

What's your experience with your child having your partner's last name and you're not married?

In my head I feel like I'll need to bring her birth certificate everywhere with me just in case...

Labour?

40+4, had sudden contraction start about an hour ago, no signs beforehand other than pressure. They're painful and irregular, sometimes 2 minutes apart sometimes 5 minutes apart?!
Confused as what to do? Don't wanna go in and get sent home but it seems close together and already painful i thought they'd come on soft and grow in intensity

How was your elective/planned c section experience?

39 weeks & baby girl decided to flip feet down 2 days ago. If she’s still breech on Monday I have to schedule a c section. I’m not worried about the recovery since my last delivery resulted in a severe complex 3rd degree vaginal tear. If I can handle that I can handle anything lmao. Just nervous and uneducated about the process & if something goes wrong.

1st Birthday

Don’t even want to think of it yet but what’s everyone doing for there little ones 1st birthday. Really unsure what to do! My son was born Halloween so will more than likely always have to be Halloween themed but unsure to have a party somewhere or just a tea party in the house.
