C section next week

I’m going in to have my elective section on the 13th August. I’m yet to pack my bag.

Can anyone give ideas on what I need to take with me? Or anything they know that helped them? I’ve seen people talking about taking gum

Get a night gown trust! That’s all I wore at the hospital bc it hurt so bad to put pants on. I packed all for a vaginal birth bc I wasn’t expecting to have a c section but I did bring a night gown. But I didn’t really use anything that i packed even stuff that I could’ve used for a c section

Apples and a very big water bottle! I stand by this, helped me massively go to the loo afterwards, it wasn't as scary as I imagined because of it!
I honestly didn't use half the stuff I bought with me but rather be over prepared than under. Although I had an emergency C-section so that might be why!
High waisted, big cotton underwear; easy to fit large pad and/or nappy in.
I wish I brought slippers or sliders with me so I could walk to the toilet, I'd recommend taking something like that for ease.
Good luck!! You're gonna smash it and welcome your bubba into the world 🥹

Pack night gown, dressing gown, you'll be having catheter so it's easier. Coming home outfit for yourself, towel, toiletries, dry shampoo and lip balm, long phone charger cable with the plug, maybe portable fan, earphones, eye mask? You can grab some disposable panties and postpartum pads, maybe Frida Peri bottle to refresh yourself down there if you can't do full shower.

Button down night gown or robe. Disposable underwear, reusable ice packs for home. Heating pad. Water bottle, snacks. Extra long phone cord. Toiletries. Slippers. Portable fan.

- portable phone charger (you dont want to be trying to reach a wall plug)
- peri wash bottle
- night gowns
- fan
- I'd say 2 huge water bottles with straws. I drank an entire river after my c-section. At one point my partner was filling one up while I was drinking from another
- snacks like flapjacks, healthy and filling
- all toiletries like lip balm, wipes, anything that keeps you feeling fresh
- i couldnt sleep the first night with the adrenaline so I'm glad I downloaded a few movies onto a tablet
- headphones

Basically imagine you cant move for 24 hours in a hospital bed. Of course you CAN but you want to make your life easy as possible for yourself and keep the moving for yourself and baby

Miscarriage

Pregnancy 1: missed miscarriage at 9 weeks
Pregnancy 2: healthy full term baby
Pregnancy 3: blighted ovum found out at 8 week scan
Now pregnant again and terrified of having another miscarriage. Anyone have a blighted ovum and then went on to have a healthy baby?

Different last names?

What's your experience with your child having your partner's last name and you're not married?

In my head I feel like I'll need to bring her birth certificate everywhere with me just in case...

Edit: can we stop being judgemental please? Not everything is black and white. I asked for people's experiences not opinions.

Rolling

My 4 month old isn’t rolling over yet. I’m not worried about it as I know it’ll happen when he’s ready but the past day when he lays down he tries to move/shuffle himself up towards the nearest thing to his head and twists his head loads while getting frustrated/ crying. Is this him trying to roll him self over or a sign of something else? Would love some advice if anyone has had similar :)

I’m having a mare

I’m 38 weeks pregnant today, last night I had heavy bleeding and was told to come into triage, my partner drove me in my car and it broke down about 2 mins into the journey (it’s never had any problems in 2 years), I ended up having to phone an ambulance and we left the car. My mom came to stay with my toddler and she’s just messaged me to say she can’t find the cat anywhere, she’s an indoor cat and has never been outside but my mom has been hanging out washing in the garden bless her and the cat must have slipped out. I know they say it comes in 3s but does it really need to be now 😩 I’m a nervous wreck.

1st Birthday

Don’t even want to think of it yet but what’s everyone doing for there little ones 1st birthday. Really unsure what to do! My son was born Halloween so will more than likely always have to be Halloween themed but unsure to have a party somewhere or just a tea party in the house.

Midwife appointment

Has anyone else found their 24/25 week midwife appointment pointless? Apart from getting my MAT1B form I didn’t see the point in it really. Just asked about my well being and that was it - was that normal?
