Quick question

Hi!! New to the group, I had an emergency c section on the 24th, and me and my daughter are doing great!!

My first was a vaginal birth so I’m in no man’s land when it comes to c section healing. I’m not quite 2 weeks pp yet, and from what I can tell my incision looks fine. I can barely even tell it’s there. There’s no redness, bleeding, or drainage and very minimal pain.

I will say I’ve noticed a smell when I lift the skin fold… embarrassing I know, but I live in central PA and it’s EXTREMELY humid and I’ve been sweating even just being inside. It doesn’t smell like infection.. it just kinda stinks. Could me sweating be what the smell is from?? I’m showering daily and was told by my doctor to not actively wash the incision, just to let soap run over it. I’m washing the “skin fold” as good as possible without getting soap on my incision site. Is the smell normal if I’ve been a little sweaty?? It’s gets hot in my room and I’m sweating at night too. Should I be showering twice a day instead of just before bed?? I sent a message to my doctor when I noticed it yesterday, but it usually takes them around 2-4days to get back to me.

Again, Ive got no idea what I’m doing in terms of just showering daily and making sure my clothes don’t rub on my incision site. Any advice would be so appreciated!!

Use bactine wash! It’s most likely just the area getting moist and healing at the same time, so there’s more cell/skin turnover in the area. I’d try to keep it as dry as possible to promote good healing and lower the risk of infection and prevent it from not healing fast enough.

I would say it's normal cos of the hormonal changes as well so you might sweat even more and smell different, if the incision is not red, hot to touch around the incision, swollen, open wound, liquid coming out of it, super painful I would say should be fine. Just observe if you get extra concerned contact your doctor.

Miscarriage

Pregnancy 1: missed miscarriage at 9 weeks
Pregnancy 2: healthy full term baby
Pregnancy 3: blighted ovum found out at 8 week scan
Now pregnant again and terrified of having another miscarriage. Anyone have a blighted ovum and then went on to have a healthy baby?

Different last names?

What's your experience with your child having your partner's last name and you're not married?

In my head I feel like I'll need to bring her birth certificate everywhere with me just in case...

Edit: can we stop being judgemental please? Not everything is black and white. I asked for people's experiences not opinions.

Rolling

My 4 month old isn’t rolling over yet. I’m not worried about it as I know it’ll happen when he’s ready but the past day when he lays down he tries to move/shuffle himself up towards the nearest thing to his head and twists his head loads while getting frustrated/ crying. Is this him trying to roll him self over or a sign of something else? Would love some advice if anyone has had similar :)

I’m having a mare

I’m 38 weeks pregnant today, last night I had heavy bleeding and was told to come into triage, my partner drove me in my car and it broke down about 2 mins into the journey (it’s never had any problems in 2 years), I ended up having to phone an ambulance and we left the car. My mom came to stay with my toddler and she’s just messaged me to say she can’t find the cat anywhere, she’s an indoor cat and has never been outside but my mom has been hanging out washing in the garden bless her and the cat must have slipped out. I know they say it comes in 3s but does it really need to be now 😩 I’m a nervous wreck.

Midwife appointment

Has anyone else found their 24/25 week midwife appointment pointless? Apart from getting my MAT1B form I didn’t see the point in it really. Just asked about my well being and that was it - was that normal?

1st Birthday

Don’t even want to think of it yet but what’s everyone doing for there little ones 1st birthday. Really unsure what to do! My son was born Halloween so will more than likely always have to be Halloween themed but unsure to have a party somewhere or just a tea party in the house.
