So my baby is 5 months and self settles a lot, I appreciate this is mainly because I am lucky and that’s his temperament! I also comfortable leaving him when I know he is just whinging and whining in his bed, because I know he’s tired but I know some parents are not!🩵 Honestly what I have done since around 6 weeks is settled him in the cot rather than constantly picking him up everytime I hear a noise. I will try different things like does he want the dummy, to be rocked, a blanket, his muslin etc. I think the main thing i do is when he cry’s I do give it a minute to see if he’s just whining or he is crying (and this does not include when he is screaming/crying obvs)! I also don’t smile or talk to him when I’m settling him! I try to just get him use to not needing me for every sleep! At playgroup I’ve heard so many mums still rocking baby to sleep tbh so you definitely are not alone on that one! I use the Rockit on his bed too that seems to help mine settle a lot! Ya doing fab lovely 🩷
