I have an 18mo who currently cannot link sleep cycles without me. This has been going on for 3 months. Naps and night-time. So I have resulted in contact napping and cosleeping. I have zero alone time and ability to do anything for myself.
I can't let my kid cry it out. That's never going to work for us. She has a sleep association with my hair, she twirls it whilst sucking her thumb. She also gets separation anxiety if I leave her. I have ordered a lovey and will attempt to transition her from my hair to the lovey but I'm aware this could take weeks if she even allows for the transition.
How else can I look to sleep train her to sleep independently again and connect sleep cycles? When she did sleep through my husband was putting her down but now she almost has a panic attack if he attempts.
Any help/advice appreciated, from an exhausted mama 😩

Maybe you could try holding her hand through the crib bars? How was she falling asleep prior to this? I’m sorry you’re going through this! Separation anxiety typically peaks around 16-18 months so hopefully it gets better soon for you!
