....have any of you, during your pregnancy, become frustrated with everyone else's excitement about your baby/ies (I'm having twins)?
Like...I'm in the home stretch now. Under 6 weeks to go and everyone is so happy and excited about how much they get to love on them and how they'll want for nothing, yadda yadda...
While I'm a whale, mmkay? I'm not sleeping well because every time I go to make a move, I have pelvic girdle pain. Some days, food just doesn't want to stay down. My ankles are finally swelling up and it's HORRIBLE. I'm always tired, always emotional, always just thinking about my impending doom.
I am OVERJOYED that I get to be a mother. I appreciate that others are excited, but I also feel tossed aside and forgotten. While everyone is ready to reap the benefits of my pregnancy, see my cute babies (a boy and a girl) and whatnot....
I'm just at the stage in my pregnancy where I wish it could just be mine. There is a lot of anxiety. I know my heart will explode when I see them because I'm going to just love them so much and be overwhelmed with happiness that they're here and I'm their mommy.
But with that, there is also the reality of labor. I have to do my part and get them out safely. I have to take them home and keep them alive while dealing with what has happened to my body and trying to heal. I have to deal with hormones and all the emotional garbage, trying to keep my head on straight. I have to figure out how to appreciate what little rest I get and accept the reality of how much I'm missing while still adulting, not only for myself, but for two little ones.
Nobody else cares about those things....and I just wish somebody would try harder to.

My MIL made me feel so overwhelmed throughout my first pregnancy. I think with the older women especially they remember all the things they loved about pregnancy and early parenthood but don't remember the hard parts, distance makes the heart grow fonder kind of thing. She took it to a whole other level though she was bombarding us with stuff from temu that we didn't need nor want a lot of it was actually damaged on arrival or straight trash. At our baby shower she gave us so many things that weren't on our registry and wrote a card with every single gift and insisted we read them all out loud. She was texting me constantly, she wanted to come to every appointment and wanted us to visit every other weekend when she lived over an hour away. She also made her own nursery at her house. I wanted to tell her off so badly but she had good intentions she was just being so obsessive it made me very uncomfortable. All the while I was struggling really awfully like you described.
